Revenger, Bloodmaster

It's apparently TV Tropes Week here at Cardfight Pojo. Today we look at cards that are ignored by fighters in favor of more awesome stuff...

...Oh my god. Yeah, I can see why THIS is overlooked. Bloodmaster is terrible.

Look at him. You counterblast 1 and take 1 damage (which goes face down) to draw 2 cards when called.

See my point? There is almost nothing redeeming about this guy. Let's take it from the top:

1. He's Grade 2. Even at Grade ONE that does not excuse his 5k power. I hope you enjoy 15k hate columns the turn you ride him, if it comes to that.

2. He's essentially Counterblast 2 to draw 2. Efficient enough in cost I suppose, but that is rather diminished by the extra damage you have to take and the extra guard needed to stave off death.

3. Even if you do actually net the +2, his low power means unless you have some way to turn him into a meaningful advantage, you're essentially just sitting on his crap column until you get rid of him. And that's rather difficult unless your boss unit can eat him for a +0 wash. IMMEDIATELY after calling him.

4. You have to be on a specific amount of damage for him to ever be useful: Exactly 3. Lower, and your Limit Break isn't online (that's also when your main boss, more often than not, will eat him). Higher, and your Limit Break's set up anyway, except now you can't even save guard by taking even one attack to the face, which undermines the +2 you netted in the first place.

Bloodmaster has no place anywhere unless you're ignorant of what you're passing up or totally mad. Forget this joker.

Revenger, Bloodmaster

So, welcome to "Overshadowed By Awesome" week.  For the most part, these cards, whether they're good or not, are just over-shadowed by other cards, either in this set or by members of their own clan.  Except Friday, that one isn't overshadowed by any member of its own clan.

Anyway, today we have Bloodmaster, when it's placed on the rear guard, CB1, put the top card of your deck into the damage zone face down, then draw 2 cards.

The only thing that is even remotely good about this card is that it doesn't need a "Revenger" Shadow Paladin to get the effect off and it works even if it's called from the hand.  Well, I suppose it has some use if you want to force yourself to Limit Break because your opponent is being a jerk and holding you at 3 damage for some reason.

However, despite the fact that it's got a paltry 5000 attack for a grade 2, it's completely outclassed by Skull Witch Nemian from Set 4, even if this card is stronger, heck, tomorrow's card completely outclasses this one.

If you run Shadow Paladins and need the draw, just run Nemian over this guy, you'll thank me for it.
