What's up, Rogue Squad?! To wrap up this week's Card if the Day, Saikyo once again used another trick of mine: take a random card that doesn't have anything to do with the theme of the week, and review it on Friday...

Leading Jewel Knight, Salome
Power: 10000
Grade 3
Clan: Royal Paladin
Race: Elf
[AUTO](VC) Limit Break 4 (This ability is active if you have four or more damage):When this unit attacks, if the number of rear-guards you have with "Jewel Knight" in its card name is four or more, this unit gets [Power]+2000/[Critical]+1 until end of that battle.
[ACT](VC):[Counter Blast (2)-card with "Jewel Knight" in its card name] Search your deck for up to one card with "Jewel Knight" in its card name, call it to (RC), and shuffle your deck.

...essentially, this is the poor man's Majesty Lord Blaster as it has almost the same effect, but it's only active during your turn and you essentially need a full field to even consider pulling off this effect. Luckily, the Jewel Knight subclan is actually pretty decent at calling cards from the deck to the field, and Salome has an effect like that herself. At the cost of 2 Especial Counterblasts, you're allowed to call any Jewel Knight from your deck to the field. Admittingly, this is a rather steep effect as it's expensive in both quantity of Counterblasts and the fact that you need it to be Jewel Knights. With that said, is this all worth it? In a tournament structure, I'll also admit that Julia is better, and we also have Ashlei "Reverse" coming out that'll more than likely make Salome obsolete.

She's not a bad card (as being able to hit for 3 damage while they're at 3 is pretty hilarious), but there are, and going to be, better options than her, so make sure to leave a spot in your binder for her in the next few months.

Leading Jewel Knight, Salome

And we wrap up the week with a card that’s only here because I couldn’t think of a suitable Grade 1 we hadn’t reviewed yet. Leading Jewel Knight Salome can counterblast 2 Jewel Knights during the Main Phase to call any Jewel Knight from the deck. And on Limit Break, when you have at least 4 Jewel Knight rear-guards, she gains 2k and a Critical until the end of the battle.

Late Game Critical sucks stamp GO

Now that’s out the way, let’s move on. Counterblast 2 for +1 is basically a more efficient Alfred. A nice trick to have upon Jewel Knight’s debut, but it’s not something you really want in the face of game-enders like Descendant, Raging Form etc. kicking about. A consistent field just doesn’t cut it in this day and age.

She’s okay, but dull.

2/5

P.S. In hindsight, I should probably have started with Roman. There was more to talk about there…
