What's up, you guys?!  It's Tuesday of our "(Un)known Promos Week", and today, we have...

Assault Dragon, Circular Spino
Power: 8000
Grade 2
Clan: Tachikaze
Race: Dinodragon
[AUTO](VC/RC):[Choose another of your «Tachikaze» rear-guards, and retire it] When this unit attacks, you may pay the cost. If you do, this unit gets [Power]+4000 until end of that battle.

...Spino is one of those cards where it was good when the Tachikaze clan was first introduced but is now completely overshadowed by almost every other card in the clan whether it's Raptor, Dark Rex or Ancient Dragons.  The mediocre 8,000 power with equally subpar effect to make it 12,000 by retiring a Tachikaze leaves people like me wanting more from the effect or even from the card itself, but unfortunately, this is what we get as bad as it is.  The only good combos I can think of with this is with one of the Ptero cards to either bring it back to the hand or an extra point boost, but that can be done with just about any predator Tachikaze card better.

Honestly, I was using this before Raptors were out with Deathrex, but now that the clan has evolved, there's no reason to play this card.

Rating: 1.5/5 (It's still better than Triple Dark Armor)
Art: 3.5/5 (Still a nice artwork for a Tachikaze card)
Next Time: One of the first holo Promo cards made...

Assault Dragon, Circular Spino

Continuing onwards for obscure-promo week is Assault Dragon, Circular Spino. When he attacks, you can retire one of your rear-guards to make him a 12k attacker.

He's junk. Don't believe me? Consider what his most optimal column is going to be; 20k paired with Sonic Noa. That's no more efficient than a 16k column especially given the proliferation of 11k+ Vanguards (which he would be forming with Sonic Noa ANYWAY). Not only that, in order to not minus with him, you have to have an eatable target such as Skyptero which costs Counterblast which should have gone into your boss units. AND then there's the attack order which has to change because Skyptero has to be sacked away after boosting. So a RG attack first ends up being forced.

All in all, I don't intend to jump through this many hoops to accomplish what is a piss-poor Bedivere clone. Especially with 20k columns being less relevant.

Sorry about the lack of reviews lately, having been sick I am slowly recovering. But let’s jump into it. This week’s review is all about promo cards you may or may not know about.  Today’s card is Assault Dragon, Circular Spino.  A wonderful grade 2 that not only has the knack of becoming 12.000 for a turn before being boosted but also fulfils the requirements of most Tachikaze units that needs them to be retired to activate an effect. I personally like this unit as it’s a powerhouse and makes the set up’s for plays later. He’s not perfect but he’s nowhere near bad either.

3.5 above average but not too much so.
