Pojo's Pokemon Card of the Day

Team Aqua Hideout

Date Reviewed: 5.14.04

Ratings & Reviews below

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale
1 being the worst.  3 ... average.
5 is the highest rating.

Martin Moreno Team Aqua Hideout

"Each Pokemon that dosen't have Team Aqua in it's name pays C more to retreat."

Modified

When you first read this, you are reminded of Rocket's Training Gym which had a much similar effect. Team Aqua's Hideout can have it's uses, but ofcourse only in a Team Aqua based deck. This isn't the type of card you would play in a normal deck in hopes of using the effect to make your opponent pay more for a retreat. This is a great addition to any Team Aqua based deck however. I have seen fast Aqua decks really make a showing in some areas and this card makes the perfect counter to the people who actually still play High Pressure System in Blaziken. It isn't great, but not a bad card. 3/5

No Limit (Unlimited)

I cannot really name a single Team Aqua Pokemon that is good in the unlimited format, so just stick to Rocket's Training Gym here. 1/5

Limited

It's alright in limit I guess, but your first pick in trainers really should be drawing instead of minor disruption cards such as this one. However, it will do damage late game if it lasts that long. Getting a big hitter out and keeping out whatever active they promote after a knockout and keeping it there because of a high retreat cost is pretty good. 3/5
