Pojo's Pokemon Card of the Day

Dark Golbat - Team Rocket Returns

Date Reviewed: 12.09.04

Ratings & Reviews below

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale
1 being the worst.  3 ... average.
5 is the highest rating.

Dark Golbat is unusual for a Dark Pokemon. It has MORE Hit Points than a normal Golbat has! Most Golbat have 60 HP. The previous Dark version had only 50. This one has a robust 70, 90 with Rocket's Hideout in play!

Also, it's attack is incredibly efficient: 30 damage for one Grass energy. Not only that, you get to choose which Pokemon to do the 30 damage to! I can't think of any other Pokemon that can do 30 damage to the bench for one energy. Since it has a free Retreat cost, it's downside is easily overcome by it's ability to swarm. I really like this card. It's speedy and strong.

Unlimited: 3.75/5
Modified: 4/5
Limited: 4/5

Johnny Blaze
Dark Golbat

This is the only version to use at this point. For 1G, Night Ambush deals 30 damage to any 1 of your opponents Pokemon of your choosing. You don’t apply Weakness and Resistance to benched Pokemon and Dark Golbat cant use this attack next turn.

Unlimited: 3/5 – You will be using to evolve anyway so it wont be your main attacker.

Modified: 3/5 – 30 damage to any 1 of your opponent’s Pokemon of your choosing is nice. You will mainly use it to evolve though.

Limited: 4/5 – For 1 G 30 damage to any 1 Pokemon can be a game winner when your opponent just retreated that Beefy ex to the bench and it only had 20 Hp left. Night Ambush for the game. is here to provide guidance to all Pokemon trainers out there.  Whether it's the Gameboy Game, N64 or the Trading Card Game, provides all the wisdom you desire.

If you have cool game tips, a killer deck, or breaking news ... send them to us.  We'll post it on the site ... and give you all the credit.
