Ratings & Reviews below

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale
1 being the worst.  3 ... average.
5 is the highest rating.

Not much to say today, but I should point out the following errata:

Q. Does Darkness Chant require the owning player to count either Basics OR Evolutions in the discard pile, or can both be counted together?
A. The attack is intended to count both Basics AND Evolutions, not one or the other. (Jun 17, 2004 PUI Rules Team)

K, keep that in mind peoples. As for the card itself, works well against Meta and Shiftry… err, kinda well against Shiftry. Anything that uses special energies sloppily it can mize. Works pretty well with Crobat and Gorebyss, also.

-Thanks to the Team behind the Compendium. Without them, a lot of stuff would still be messed up.

*August 7th, 2004.*

Johnny Blaze BANNETTE– We are reviewing cards this week that will have an impact at Worlds. Umm, I don’t really see how this card is going to have an impact on the World Championship. By the time it can really do anything useful, with only 70 HP it is going to dye. Maybe if it resisted Psychic it could be decent. But with a weakness to the ever popular Shiftry, and a resistance to Fighting I really don’t see the power in this card.

Unlimited: 3/5 – OHKO on Sneasal (Candy 1st turn then Double Rainbow, then Oak, Oak, Oak, to discard enough basics) and a resistance to Tyrogue. It could be a neat 1st turn kill deck. I would need to try it out more but it seems like it might work in this environment due to its low energy costs and Darkness Chant gets through resistance.

Modified: 2/5 – Like stated before I cant see the power in this card with only 70 hp and subpar attacks. Yes it places up to 6 damage counters but how quick can you get 6 Pokemon in your discard in this format?

Limited: 1/5 – Shadow Steal is only dealing 10 with the absence of special energy cards in HL Draft. And if you have 6 Pokemon in your discard pile in Limited you have already lost. is here to provide guidance to all Pokemon trainers out there.  Whether it's the Gameboy Game, N64 or the Trading Card Game, provides all the wisdom you desire.

If you have cool game tips, a killer deck, or breaking news ... send them to us.  We'll post it on the site ... and give you all the credit.
