Ginny is the youngest child in the Weasley family, where there are nine members. She has six brothers, Ron, George, Fred, Percy, Bill & Charlie. She has flaming red hair, like the rest of her family. All of her family has been in Gryffindor at Hogwarts. She seems to be accident prone whenever she's in the same room as Harry, she may have a secret crush on him. 

In Ginny's first year, Lucius Malfoy puts Tom Riddle's diary in one of Ginny's Spellbook's just after he got in a fight with Ginny's dad, Arthur. Ginny wrote in the diary, and Tom Riddle wrote back, eventually gaining enough information to control her. Then Ginny, without knowing it, opened the Chamber of Secret's, releasing (and controlling) the monster that attacked and petrified several Muggle-Born students & a cat. She started to realize what she was doing and tried to stop by throwing away the diary, but then Harry found it and took it, eventually finding out how to use it. The person who owned the diary, Tom Riddle, is actually the Heir of Slytherin and Lord Voldemort himself, but Ginny didn't know that. 

Near the end of Ginny's first year, she was about to tell Ron and Harry what she was doing, but Percy interrupted her and she left and was taken prisoner in the Chamber of Secret's, until Ron and Harry realized what the monster was, a giant Basilisk, and found the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets. They then saved Ginny, who everyone thought was dead,  killed the Basilisk, and destroyed the diary by putting one of the Basilisk's fangs through it.

In Ginny's third year, she goes to the Yule Ball with Neville Longbottom, who kept stepping on her toes while they were dancing.
