It’s funny how little things can change your perspective. Now that we have an Eternal Dragon variant with the Eternalize keyword, I wonder how we ever did without one! Joking aside, the dragon is as simple and elegant as a Time Spiral card gets, and his abilities have a much cleaner progression than those of his famous ancestor. A second-turn cycling effect and a fourth-turn eternalization is a strong sequence, and will help white in basically any format you can think of – and doesn’t it feel much cooler than somehow shoehorning a Divination variant into a white mana cost?

A nifty reference to Eternal Dragon from Scourge, Timeless Dragon is pretty neat overall as a card. It’s a competitively-costed flier that can come back in a weakened form…or it’s a Plains out of your library that can also come out as a 4/4 with flying from your graveyard. However you choose to play this, it’s honestly pretty nice, and it gets a nice amount of value either way. It’s probably a touch slow for Modern play, outside of the most controlling Control shells (where this can help fix mana early), but this’ll prove to be a nice card for most white-adjacent decks.

Limited: 4.5 (you have to kill it twice)
Multiplayer: 3.5
