Hello Pojo Fans,

T.G. Glaive Blaster is the new big bag Synchro Monster for the archetype and the end of our week.

Tuner Synchro and non-Tuner Synchro Monsters needed would normally be a tall order, but not for this archetype. Ideally you’ll use Mighty Striker, Over Dragonar and Hyper Librarian to Synchro Summon this. Banish ability against an Extra Deck monster on the field during either turn avoids destruction effect(s) and eliminates boss monsters. Using this effect upt o the number of non-Tuner Synchro Monsters for this card’s Synchro Summon will get you at the very least another banish. Two banishes of Extra Deck monsters each turn puts your opponent against a wall with this card also having a 4000/4000 stat line. If you wish to maximize this card’s effect, you’ll have to do something like Formula Synchron alongside smaller Synchro Monsters like Mist Bird Clausolas or Recipro Dragonfly.

When you use that effect it can trigger Glaive Blaster’s second effect: Special Summon one of those monster’s back to the field, but under your control now. This is a banish-style of Goyo Guardian’s effect without the attack. You also get to ignore Summoning Conditions, avoiding anything that may stop you from turning an opponent’s boss monster against them. While this won’t likely ever come into play, it is nice to always cover that base. Dropping this, banishing two, then Special Summoning one of them back to your field could facilitate an OTK with your 4000ATK Glaive Blaster alongside something that is more than likely 2000+ATK. Be careful though, if you use Over Dragonar the turn you summon Glaive Blaster, you won’t be able to summon whatever you banish because of Dragonar locking you into T.G. monsters.

Banishing is better than destroying. Multiple banishing is even better. 4000ATK lines up with a Level 12, but giving it a double banish ability at the very least is a lot. Stack stealing one of those banished monsters on top of that, and it can happen every turn? T.G. get themselves a boss monster that can enable OTK/FTK potential.

T.G. gets another boss in T.G. Glaive Blaster, a level 12 EARTH Machine Synchro monster, representing a combo of T.G. Blade Blaster and T.G. Halberd Cannon. Its properties are identical to Halberd Cannon, sharing its requirements of a Tuner Synchro monster and two or more non-Tuner Synchro monsters (easily done in T.G. now with the help of T.G. Over Dragonar) as well as its highly impressive 4000 attack and defense, a fitting spread for a level 12 Accel Synchro monster.

Glaive Blaster can only be Synchro Summoned, so unfortunately it can’t be generically revived, though T.G. doesn’t really have ways to cheat out Synchro monsters anyway. Glaive Blaster’s first effect is a Quick Effect that can be used once for each non-Tuner you used for its Synchro Summon, so it’ll usually be twice; it lets you target and banish any monster Special Summoned from the Extra Deck. This leads right into its other effect, a soft once per turn trigger effect that triggers if any monsters are banished, letting you target one of them and Special Summon it to your field, interestingly ignoring its Summoning conditions. The idea of Glaive Blaster is pretty straightforward– in addition to disruption, you can steal your opponent’s monster, giving you even more advantage. Additionally, the banishing effect is useful for boardbreaking and can help trigger T.G. Close’s Graveyard effect to set it to your field without wasting resources. Glaive Blaster’s main weakness, beyond lacking protection, is the increasing number of strong Main Deck monsters; Unchained can easily delete it with Abominable Unchained Soul, and Floowandereeze decks are only somewhat bothered by the steal effect. Kashtira Fenrir alone can also ruin your day, though if you summoned T.G. Trident Launcher, Glaive Blaster is at least safe from targeting effects. To put salt on the wound, you don’t lose particularly much going for the King Calamity combo instead for a similar amount of resources. Still, Glaive Blaster is T.G.’s strongest boss yet; I just wish it were stronger to make it justifiable over King Calamity, even if you can technically make both with a godlike hand.

+Excellent stats and synergistic kit
-Lacks protection without Trident Launcher or Close
-Competes with King Calamity, which has stronger endboard potential despite taking the same amount of resources

We end the week with a retrain of Halberd Cannon that the archetype has needed for years for more options for their Level 12, so let’s see what he becomes with T.G. Glaive Blaster.

Glaiver Blaster is a Level 12 EARTH Machine Synchro with 4000 ATK and DEF. Very strong stats and a good combo of EARTH Machine. Materials are any Synchro Tuner and any 2+ non-Tuner Synchro monsters, which is a lot to put into a monster, but Decks that get monsters like this usually get enough to ensure they can provide said resources to summon these monsters. It must be Synchro Summoned, no cheating. The first effect is a Quick Effect to target a monster that was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck and banish it, with this effect being able to be used up to the number of non-Tuner Synchros you used as material to summon this. Good way to reward you to putting more monsters in this, and you’ll likely at least be able to use this effect at least twice a turn. Most Decks summon a lot from the Extra Deck now, so this should be live against most Decks. Second effect is a soft once per turn after a monster(s) is banished face-up to let you target one of them and Special Summon it to your field, ignoring the summoning conditions. A good way to use the first effect to steal an opponent’s boss monster to turn against them, and the ignoring of summoning conditions is good for some specific monsters that otherwise wouldn’t be able to be turned against the opponent in this manner. It can also work for your monsters getting banished, maybe extending plays to help get another big Synchro by the side of this. It’s a good boss monster for T.G. and a decent monster to join the Quasar family and Halberd Cannon. Play it in T.G. for sure, maybe try to get it side by side with Halberd Cannon.
