WIZKIDS ANNOUNCES PIRATES AT OCEAN’S EDGE
“ON THE ROCKS” TOURNAMENT!

Celebrating the arrival of Pirates at Ocean’s Edge, fans from one end of the world to the other will join together for one of the most exciting summer events ever.  On May 25 through June 10, 2007, players can compete in this special sealed tournament at participating retail stores registered with WizKids’ organized play* program.  Players may find registered venues in local areas by visiting www.wizkidsgames.com/pirates/wheretobuy.asp.  WizKids Games (Europe), owned and operated by Topps Europe, Ltd, will be running similar events creating a worldwide Pirates event like never before.

“This event is a first among Pirates tournaments since we’ve never offered a Pirates scenario before,” said Joe Hauck, EVP of Sales, Marketing and Product Development.  “A three-masted Longship is placed in the play area at setup; in the game, the Longship can attack any player that moves into range.  Players win by having the last ship afloat or the most points at the end of 60 minutes.  However, the player who is in control of the Longship at the end of the game, or was in control of it last if the Longship was sunk, gets to keep the ship as a prize.”

For the first time ever, WizKids (in cooperation with Gale Force Nine is offering an extraordinary prize package to retailers as well as players: one lucky store receives a Grand Prize package including a special, 3D Pirates game table for their store.
