Cadet-Captain Mike Name: Moor Hound (England)
Card: DJ #203 (Limited Edition)
Points: 15
Masts: 2
Cargo: 2
Moves: S+S
Guns : 3L,3S
Hit %: 100 (S), 50 (L)
Ability: Ghost Ship

This is England's only ghost ship. Her name recalls the epic Sherlock Holmes tale, "The Hound of the Baskervilles." Too bad this ship doesn't have much about her that's epic.

Speed, cannons, cargo... all are very average, and that's doubly disappointing when you consider her point cost. She doesn't have the stats to be a good gold ship, or a good fighter, or a good boarder. When you consider that 15 points could buy you a very good gold ship and boarder like HMS Durham, or an amazing fighter like HMS Grand Temple, it's hard to see the Moor Hound as good for much of anything.

If you're an English admiral who needs a ghost ship for some special tactic, then it's this ship or nothing. If that doesn't sound like much of a recommendation, it isn't meant to be. The Moor Hound isn't horrible, but for fifteen points, she ought to be a lot better.

Goldship rating: 2.9 / 5
Gun Ship rating: 2.2 / 5
Boarding rating: 2.7 / 5
Value for points: 2.6 / 5

Ship Name: Moor Hound

Card Number: 203

Faction Affiliation: England

Set: Davy Jone’s Curse

Rarity: LE (Tournament Pack)

Point Value: 15

Cargo Space: 2

Base Move: S+S

Cannons: 3L-3S

Ability: Ghost Ship.

If yesterday’s ship received a 3.5/5 for playability and collectability, then this ship shouldn’t receive much higher marks. In fact, it should receive lower marks. I do not know what was with Wizkids when they issued the point cost for Tournament ships because this ship is a rip-off for a 15 point ship. You can get the HMS Goliath with a helmsman for the price of this ship. Plus, the Goliath will be faster and better cargo space then this ship. Can you even call this ship a treasure ship? The ship has two cargo spaces, and that will not do if you plan on having a large ship like the Rattlesnake. Even the Rattlesnake, with her negative ability, is better than this ship. If you consider this ship to be a great ship, then either you are a collector or you enjoy ghost ships, and neither are likable if they are on the Moor Hound.

Moor Hound

Another Limited Edition, non-Cursed Ghost Ship, the Moor Hound belongs to England.

Powers: Like yesterday's ship, she only has the Ghost Ship keyword.

Cargo Space: Also like yesterday's ship, only two spaces. These spaces you might actually want to fill with crew though.

Masts: Two masts with one 3L and one 3S gun aren't bad. They warrant a captain if you use her as a fighter.

Base Move: A good S+S works alright with "Ghost Ship."

Point Value: Not the greatest bargain at 15 points considering she's only got two masts. She'd make a decent interceptor though if you wanted to pay 20 or so points for a two-masted boat.

I give Moor Hound a 2.5/5.
