Now THIS is the big English gunship for Ocean's Edge. I don't like the idea that the Jade Rebellion is no more, but the Jade ships have been shared out among the other factions, so they aren't completely gone.

This ship is almost identical to the original Grand Temple, the only differences being the special ability (the original had a shoot/move) and the point cost (the original cost 20 points). That makes her a very good value indeed. I like a mix of S-range and L-range cannons, so you can shoot no matter what the enemy's ability might be, and the Grand Temple has a ton of cannons. With six masts, she can win any boarding action you care to try, and then fire all six cannons at the ram/board victim (Junk masts don't block their own cannons' line of fire). Her only real drawback is her less-than-stellar cargo capacity.

Give her the best crew you can find. A combination of The Gentleman (captain and reroll) and Commander Spencer Portland (SAT and crew protection) means she'll get two moves and two shoots roughly half the time - ouch! The third crew could be a Helmsman for a frightening S+S+S move. Grand Temple's low point value works against her here; her crew's total cost can't exceed her own cost, so you're limited in how many potent crewmen you can pack on board.

With one or two more cargo spaces, I'd give this ship a 5. That doesn't take anything away from her as she is, though. And what she is, is one of the biggest, baddest fighters in the game, for a very fair price.

Wow. The British fighting ship. It's pretty amazing. It has a decent move, and great cannons for a low point cost. It's cargo leaves something to be wanted, but thats just to make up for the rest of its amazing stats. This ship has wowed me ever since I saw it. Just crew it with a captain, a helmsman, and possibly a world-hater, and just sail around blasting. I give it a 4.5/5 just because of the low cargo.

Flavor Text:Admiral Kenyon made a great show of the Jade Rebellion surrendering this ship to his forces, and now uses her as his flagship to symbolize English power.

This is THE main reason for the English ownage in this set, the diabolical HMS Grand Temple. Not only is it disgustingly cheap, and fast, and have awesome cannons, but it allows Pirate crew on it. Yes, I know what you're thinking. SAC Captains will abound on this ship like barnacles. I mean, my friend has his Captain Blackheart awaiting HMS Grand Temple to be pulled. This ship is so sick, it's a good thing that it only has 3 cargo, or else I might call it broken. Especially in the hands of the English, who already have some extremely underpriced stuff, namely HMS London, but now they get the underpriced goodness of the Pirate faction crew. Seriously, this ship is so wrong.
I don't know who worked on it, but the designer must have been an English fan. So, why not throw on your Captain Blackheart, First Mate Ismael, and some fodder, and have a party? I don't know about you, but this ship is the closest thing to replacing the Titan. except it has almost zero cargo, which kind of stinks.
So, if this ship had at least one or two more cargo, I would give it a 5/5.
But, I give it a 4.8/5.
Almost a perfect scoring.
