Momo is not only incredibly cute, he’s so versatile that he’s almost like a modal creature. He can deal a shocking amount of damage when you cast him on turn one, because presumably you’ve read his game text and have lots of other flying creatures in your deck. The obvious case is one creature per turn (presumably playing around sweepers and such) where he hits better than Isamaru, but there are a lot of white cards that generate multiple flying tokens when you look into it, and so he sometimes hits even better than that. Other times, his cost reduction will get you – Warden of Evos Isle already messes with opposing strategic assessments, and Momo gives you even less time to get set up before he starts. And, of course, he stacks with the Warden in casual and Commander, so you might as well give up on the math part!

Momo, Friendly Flier brings a new creature type to the game, as well as a bit of fun tied to it. Before you ask, Lemur is the completely new type, represented on only Momo (and other cards that depict Momo in Avatar), so this usually means you’ll get a one mana discount on your first creature spell each turn, and for one mana, that’s excellent. If you can slam Momo on turn one, you can stand to save a lot of mana over the course of a game.
That’s not to say Momo is only support, because it can play well with creatures with flying to go for the face. Flying helps it slip through, and white is the color of small flying creatures (like Spirits). The buff may be temporary, but hitting for 3 or 4 each turn adds up quickly.
Momo, Friendly Flier feels like it’s priced to make an impact. Even if that 1 toughness is an issue, costing one mana helps a lot, and you can cast Momo for free (effectively) if you follow it up with another creature. It can definitely help, but it needs a fair bit of help to really shine,

Yay, a tiny friend!
A small white ally flier, and it’s a lemur! That boosts your flyers!
I checked for you: there is a grand total of three lemurs in Magic. So you really don’t have to worry about non-lemur spells being a problem, because basically all spells in Magic are non-lemur. Still funny.
Basically your first flyer each turn is 1 mana cheaper, and that, dear readers, is where it gets interesting. You gain so much tempo off of this little critter!
That creature also boosts Momo, so I can see him becoming a very nice addition to white decks and decks that include white!
