The Game Closet
Waco,TX
Type 2 (Standard)
16 Participants
April 7th 2001

This tournament ran along side of the JSS Challenge event that we held this
past Saturday.  Everyone seemed to be having a good time.  Several of the
players showed up with stock decks.  The field was very heavy in
Counter-Rebel madness.  That should come as no surprise to any of you.  There
was only one Fires deck however, which I found to be interesting.  Maybe
Fires is being played more among the younger crowd and Counter-Rebel is for
the older folks.  There were a couple of new deck ideas that turned up and
produced respectable records.  Adrian Sayers and Zach Karthauser were both
playing new decks.  They finished in the final 8, but neither made it to the
finals.  Just for the record, both were bumped out by Counter-Rebel.  These
results are also from four rounds of Swiss.

As a reminder, The Game Closet will be hosting a cash event this weekend.
This will be everyone’s last chance to practice in a competitive field for
Regionals.  If you are within driving distance, I would suggest that you show
up to view the metagame at the very least.  It looks like we will have a very
solid crowd as many people have already confirmed their attendance.  I know
we can all use a little more preperation and this is the place to do it…
