Borborygmos -

This is an interesting creature. My only issue is that it's a tad bit expensive, even for green. And in Red/Green decks, it's very likely that you will have better creatures or something better to do with your mana when you reach the point that you can cast this guy. I'd expect this card will be popular among the casual crowd.

The Antman

Borborygmos- Rare- Ravnica

hey peoples, if there is one thing to get myself off my lazy butt and do CotDs again, its Guildpact previews, today we have the Gruul's leader, Borborygmos. Borborygmos sort of has a "psudo" bloodthirst(the guilds mechanic), and thanks to his trample the ability is actually quite good.

This dude has a huge body of 6/7 for only(haha only) 7 mana. but his double red and green mana cost keeps him from going out of his guild colors unless the deck has heavy color fixing. After looking at some of the other Gruul spoilers this guy just seems like a joke simply because he is just so expensive for his ability, infact his ability supports swarms more than guys that are already big (and the gruul has lots of those), which possibly makes him useful in a block R/G/W deck, which seems rather powerful when you add in things such as lightning helix, selesnya guildmage, glare of subdual, and so on.

Ratings:

constructed- 2/5 he just isnt a very constructed card

limited- 4/5 he is a big fatty that makes everyone bigger fatties, sure ill take him

casual- 5/5 a great casual card for token decks

final thought- i dont see him being much of a constructed player, or even casual since fangren firstborns ability is just better

Borborygmos

Oof....a bit too expensive to play in constructed, but this thing is a bomb in Limited play, and probably a lot of fun in casual. Borby uses unfriendly colors of its guild, and it may be hard to swing in limited because of that, but Wizards has done a decent job of smoothing mana for this block thus far, and I have no reason to believe that will change but a bit. Fun offering from the new Guildpact set!

Casual - 4
Limited - 4.5
