Toy Boat

This is a great Unhinged card because it combines interesting art, a comical wink at an old mechanic (in this case Cumulative Upkeep) and overall silliness. The problem with trying to actually play this card in real life is your definition of "repeat 'Toy Boat' real fast" in order to pay for cumulative upkeep. I get it, the words "toy boat" is a mini tongue twister, the faster you repeat it, the more likely you are to eventually misspeak. If you misspeak the words 'toy boat' when you are paying the cumulative upkeep, you must sacrifice Toy Boat. Of course, all there will ever be when you try to play this card are arguments over how quickly the player said the words and more arguments over whether the player misspoke the words at any point.
This is a funny Unhinged card that can't be expected to be played truly correctly. If it COULD be played correctly in a consistent manner, it would be quite a solid creature in limited play. Hard to imagine how this card would fit well in any constructed deck, regardless of its inherent Unhinged playability difficulty.

Three power! Three toughness! Three mana! Seems like a good plan for any deck. While its cumulative upkeep can be a bit challenging, this card is build for fast decks, and if you need to pay its upkeep more than four times, he's probably already done his job. I've drafted this successfully a few times now, as it fits with any color, and can be played at three mana regardless of what color mana they are. I strongly suggest this is draft, but in constructed you could find better things to play at three mana.

Toy Boat - Monday

This card is cute. It plays on the old tongue twister. The only problem I have is that judging what "quickly" is could be an issue. And I imagine this card is terrible for those with a lisp or some other speech impediment. But overall, the card is decently balanced.

Toy Boat --

I can't complain too much about a 3/3 creature for three mana, especially one that can fit in almost any deck. However, I think the cumulative upkeep is a bit much. I tried to say "Toy Boat" five times quickly and learned that my Boats might be making a trip to the graveyard within a few turns. Overall, this card is decent enough, but you should probably practice with it before taking it to any game that you need to win.
