Jurrac Volcano – #BLMM-EN019
During your Main Phase: You can destroy 1 Dinosaur monster you control, and if you do, Special Summon 1 “Jurrac” monster from your Deck. If your opponent Special Summons a monster(s) and they have activated 4 or more monster effects this turn (except during the Damage Step): You can Special Summon 1 “Jurrac Meteor” from your Extra Deck (this is treated as a Synchro Summon). If a “Jurrac” monster(s) you control would be destroyed by card effect, you can banish 1 Dinosaur monster from your GY instead. You can only use each effect of “Jurrac Volcano” once per turn.

Hello Pojo Fans,
Jurrac Volcano is the new Field Spell for Dinos that are using Jurrac, or just Jurrac in general.
Destroy a Dinosaur monster you control and Special Summon a Jurrac from the Deck is a an advantage you’ve heard of before from Dinosaur monsters that now gets added to a Field Spell. Destroy any of the top-tier Dinos you are teching into the Jurrac archetype to get any Jurrac you want. Stego is a prime choice for this search as it will further get you advantage immediately. The balance of Jurrac Volcano is that you can’t pop something in your hand with the card, which would have made it even easier to gain a huge advantage.
If your opponent activates four or more monster effects and then Special Summons a monster you are likely in dire need of Special Summoning a Jurrac Meteor and treating it as a Synchro Summon. This is going to likely always be during your opponent’s turn, which will help you recover anything lost through those monster effects your opponent is activating. A Nibiru-like effect as you need them to activate monster effects and Meteor comes crashing down onto the field destroying all cards on the field, then allows you to Special Summon a Tuner from your grave. Your opponent getting you to this requirement is easy, if Volcano survives all of it is another thing. If your opponent is activating spot removal abilities then they are going to go after this, especially if they are nearing the fourth monster effect of their turn. However, they may not have a choice if you have plenty of other things garnering their attention.
All in all, Jurrac Volcano is a RoTA once per turn for Jurracs with the added bonus of triggering Dino effects that need destruction. Even if you trade a Jurrac to get a better Jurrac you stand to progress in the right direction for the turn. The second ability is meant to be a recovery option if your opponent is overpowering/extending past your protection, but they can just get rid of this first and be free of that worry. Appreciate the attempt at fast-tracking a Synchro Summon of a board-wipe Level 10 because of your opponent’s moves though.

Midweek gives us a new Field Spell for Jurracs to give them a 2nd Spell/Trap option: Jurrac Volcano.
Volcano is a Field Spell that, during your Main Phase, lets you destroy a Dinosaur you control to summon a Jurrac directly from your Deck. Nice way to get to the Jurrac portion of your Deck while also destroying Babycerasaurus, since that’s a gimmick Dinosaurs will never escape from. No Dino lock this time, so you can make an Evolzar Xyz potentially off this play. If your opponent Special Summons a monster and they used at least 4 monster effects that turn, you get to summon a Jurrac Meteor from the Extra Deck, treating it as a Synchro Summon. Good thing it is treated as a Synchro Summon, since Meteor’s only effect triggers if you Synchro Summon it, which now means you get access to a field nuke when the opponent Special Summons, and the monster effect activation requirement should be easy to meet since most Decks use several monster effects a turn. The final effect works with Meteor nuking the field, since if a Jurrac monster(s) you control would be destroyed by card effect, you can banish a Dinosaur from your graveyard instead, so you at least get to keep a big body on the field after Meteor destroys everything, plus this could trigger the effect of Giant Rex or Kaitoptera to come back to the field. HOPT on each effect is fine. Volcano is another solid support card for Jurracs and Dinosaurs in general, letting you pop a Dinosaur to get to your Jurracs while being a way to summon Meteor on the opponent’s turn and not completely wiping your field when your Meteor touches down. It’s also searchable with the new Jurrac Synchro, but you can still play 3 of this and always have the Trap to get to with the new boss.

Jurrac gets a very helpful Field Spell in Jurrac Volcano. The deck’s new boss monster, Jurrac Astero (yeah I’m spoiling it this time, again) is the most reliable way to access it, though in more Dinosaur-heavy hybrids, the Kaitoptera engine can make Horned Saurus and grab it as well. Volcano comes with 3 hard once per turn effects, once again having the card text of 3 Jurrac monsters combined. During the Main Phase, Volcano will let you destroy any Dinosaur monster you control, then Special Summon any Jurrac monster from your deck. This combos excellently with the babies and it’ll bring out Jurrac Stego. I’m never a big fan of 2-card combos like this though, since you’ll have a high risk of bricking if you run too many babies; instead, I’d rather use this effect to destroy Jurrac Megalo, either immediately or near the end of your combo after summoning the new boss monster, since it’ll set up Jurrac Meteor during your opponent’s turn. Volcano’s second effect is hilariously a shout-out to Nibiru, the Primal Being, letting you Special Summon Jurrac Meteor directly from your Extra Deck (naturally, treated as a Synchro Summon) if your opponent Special Summons a monster during a turn where they activated 4 or more monster effects. While it is very telegraphed, it’s a decent backup plan if your main way of summoning Jurrac Meteor is thwarted, whether through Graveyard disruption or simply being unable to get Astero into the Graveyard. That brings us to Volcano’s final effect, triggering if any Jurrac monsters would be destroyed by card effect to let you banish a Dinosaur from your Graveyard to save them. This effect is obviously meant to combo with Jurrac Meteor, which would otherwise nuke your entire field– including itself! It’s a shame that you can only use it once, since it’s not unrealistic to summon Meteor twice during your opponent’s turn through Volcano and Astero, but I guess you shouldn’t really bank on Volcano summoning Meteor anyway. This is a tricky card to judge ratios for; if you’re running a build heavy on Dinosaurs, I can see it being good at 3. Otherwise, in a Hand Trap-heavy build, I’d probably just run 1.
+Decent 2-card combo piece that can destroy babies and access Jurrac Stego
+Protects your field from Jurrac Meteor and fuels your banishment
+Can summon Meteor as disruption
-Summoning Meteor is predictable and can be played around
-Unreliable as a combo piece in low-Dinosaur builds
