This is a recent update/adaptation of Future Sight – the card, not the expansion – and is used in some of the same ways. It can fuel some interesting combos and chains, especially if you have any other cards which exile cards from your library and let you play them. It may shut off playing cards from your hand, but if you have a number of cards with alternate uses or ways to cast them – cycling and madness come to mind – that’s not such a big problem. And, of course, if most of your cards are cheap direct damage spells, you can often chain them off the top of your library regardless of how many cards you do or don’t have in your hand.

For a color that usually has no hand, the best solution is to just play cards from the top of your library, right? Experimental Frenzy is an enchantment that is a touch more powerful than it seems: you can play cards from the top of your library, which looks really good when you can chain together a bunch of inexpensive burn spells! This behaves like Future Sight does (to a point; you don’t show the top card of your library to the world), but you can’t play cards from your hand. This is a downside, but the enterprising deck will have ways to not worry as much about this, and you can still unearth/flashback spells all the same. Experimental Frenzy does take a bit to make work, but extra gas in a color that sometimes has trouble getting the engines running after that initial spurt is worth it. (Also worth mention is that Experimental Frenzy can blow itself up, so it’s not always going to be an albatross around your neck.)
