Dragonball Z: Broly, the Legendary Super Saiyan
Review - 2.18.05 - By SuperSaiyanTrunks

Today, I decided to do a movie review on Dragonball Z: Broly, the Legendary Super Saiyan. Why am I doing a review on such an old movie, you ask? Well, I get to that a little later. Out of all the DBZ movies, this is my favorite one. I’m sure many of you are wondering why, so I’ll try my best to tell you. For starters, its got all your favorite characters in it, like Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Trunks, Piccolo, you know, all the guys like that. Also, if you seen it, you would realize too things; One is that you notice how much of a hard-ass Vegeta really is when he wouldn’t give up his power to Goku easily. And the second thing, Goku was acting like his son. If one of the DBZ episodes of Gohan vs. Cell, Gohan says, and I quote: “Ever since I was a kid, I would always get in fights and I would have no control over my powers and I wouldn’t stop until the other person was incapable of fighting back.” When Goku was trying to finish off Broly for good, he wouldn’t stop. I’m sure there are other times when he did that, but this stuck out to me more then ever. It also has a little be trail in it, when Paragus (Broly’s dad) left him before Comet Camory was about to his “New Vegeta”. (New Vegeta was the planet that Paragus said that was for him).

You also see what Goku’s power level was when he was born (which was about 2) and Broly’s was 10,000. Now on to the good stuff, one question everyone asks me. “Mike, (that’s my name) why does Broly want to destroy Goku so bad?” Well, I have no clue. (Laughing), Well, I really do. When they were both baby’s, the people were talking about Kakort’s kid, and Goku was right next to him. Goku was crying real badly, and Broly was taking it all in. Prince Vegeta (Vegeta’s dad) ordered that they kill Broly ASAP. Paragus was trying to talk them out of it, like saying “He could be of great help to us in the future.” P. Vegeta said, “We can’t take that risk!” And, if Frieza didn’t blow up their planet, he’d be right. Broly would have been all right, if he didn’t have such a high power level, and if he’d know how to control his powers.

Now on to the good stuff. Why I picked to review this movie. Well, a future movie will explain it all. There’s a movie called “Dragonball Z: Broly Returns”. If you’d play the Buu’s Fury game, you’d realize that you needed to beet him to get one of the Dragonballs. Well, in the movie, its kind of right. It’s the same time period, Gohan is grown up, he also knows Videl, on Goten and Trunks are kids. At the beginning, Goten, Trunks, and Videl are out looking for the Dragonballs. They didn’t really “find” Broly, he’s been frozen. Well they look for the Dragonballs, and then Goten and Trunks find him. They don’t know who he is, so they try to fight him. Bad idea. They don’t do very well against him. Gohan then senses there power and rushes off to save them. They way they destroy them is kind of like the way Gohan destroyed Cell. Only this time, Gohan and Goten do a big Kamahamaha with Goku’s help. (Even though he’s dead). Since these guys are still kids, and Gohan is a teen, it takes place in the Buu Saga. But, Goku’s not there yet, and they don’t know about Babadi, Buu, or the Surpreme Kai and the others. Well, that’s all I got today.
