AJC468 Determined Ki Charge

Card Number: 96
Card Type: Combat - Energy
Rarity: Rare
Expansion: Showdown
Card Text:
(Unstoppable.) 2: If your opponent prevents damage from this attack, draw a card.

Krillin's Heat Seeking Blast V .75 has finally arrived courtesy of Score and the not-so-new Showdown expansion.  There's only one problem...

They forgot to make it unpreventable.

Note to self:  Cards that deal only 4 damage do not get much use out of being unstoppable when most of their damage can be prevented by a 1 cost refocus.  Drawing a card when this happens does not remedy this problem all to well.

Determined Ki Charge is a "fairly nice" card.  There are a good bit of "fairly nice" cards in this game.  Determined Ki Charge is content to increase the rather large amount of said cards by 1 instead of doing anything particularly useful.

The real problem with Determined Ki Charge is that it needs to deal more than 4 damage to be effective, but there are not that many modifiers to be found at this point in the game.  This is especially true of energy attacks, and well, Determined Ki Charge is an energy attack.

The Final Verdict:

IMPORTANT NOTICE:  Running copies of "Determined Ki Charge" in your deck may prove to be hazardous.  User discretion advised.  Use with modifiers only.  Otherwise, dispose of immediately.  May contain materials not safe for consumption.

GDK Determined Ki Charge

A very useful card. It's already unstoppable, and if your opponent doesn't want you to draw a card, it pretty much becomes unpreventable. It does only four damage, but there are a few ways to add on damage to this attack. This is good in Red, Orange, Black, and Namekian decks, as Blue is mostly physical attacks, and the Saiyan mastery makes it do only three damage.

4/5
