Cards with jump-start play a lot like cards with flashback, except that they always cost you two cards: the flashed-back card and whatever you discarded the second time around. In the case of Chemister’s Insight, you’re using it to dig deeper into your deck and get either threats or answers you need, so it doesn’t feel particularly bad at all. In every case and more generally, I actually think discarding a card of your choice isn’t really a downside in a surprisingly high number of cases. There’s always reanimation to consider, not to mention the likes of Thunderblade Charge!

Chemister’s Insight reminds me a lot of Deep Analysis, a notorious card from Torment that was a constructed staple. This is different, albeit a similar premise: lots of cards for minimal cost. Being an instant means you can pop this at the end of turn after threatening some manner of other trick, and jump-start has a lot of support in the set. (Like Arclight Phoenix, for one!) It’s not flashy, but blue decks will like having this at their disposal, and it’s going to be cast a lot in this Standard.
