Hello Pojo Fans,

Chaos Angel brings the ATK/DEF expected of a Level 10 Synchro.

Pretty generic materials needed to summon Chaos Angel, even with the requirement of LIGHT or DARK monsters outside the Tuner (the two most supported and used Attributes). Immediately this card gives you an assist to summon it: making a LIGHT or DARK you control be a Tuner is huge. Not needing a Tuner theoretically is great. While you are usually able to find a Tuner(s) that fit into any style in the game, there are times where the best Tuner monsters won’t fit a strategy, Chaos Angel understands that and helps you out.

Spot removal upon Synchro Summon, good effect and banishing is always the preferred removal of a card. Chaos Angel then gets some added boost through the requirements for its Synchro Summon. Synchro Monsters protected from monster effects of your opponent all for using a LIGHT monster in the Synchro Summon is great protection. Even if you are Synchro Summoning only Chaos Angel, monster effects rule the game and you gotta protect your big boss from that dreaded spot removal. If you used a DARK monster in addition to the Synchro Summon all your monster will be indestructible in battle. Great protection for monsters that won’t be able to hold their own while in attack mode. Take some battle damage and turn them to defense and wall up. While your LP can still be danger if in attack mode it does help prevent you to losing out to something like an Honest. The LIGHT monster inclusion for monster effect protection is far superior, but with a Level 10 Synchro Monster you should be able to get both effects.

Chaos Angel is a pretty good Synchro Monster. It will get rid of a card or eat up a negation upon Synchro Summon, and will get you either monster effect protection for Synchro Monsters or battle protection for all your monsters…or both most likely. I think Dark World when I see this and with its ability to make a LIGHT or DARK monster a Tuner when Synchro Summoning itself, you could make one of your Goldd or Sillva or a Level 4 Dark World monster the Tuner beside one of these.

The Chaos support in the last set was nothing to write home about, but things change here with the new Level 10 Synchro: Chaos Angel.

Chaos Angel is a Level 10 DARK Fiend Synchro with 3500 ATK and 2800 DEF. The stats are great, DARK is great, and Fiend is great. The materials are any Tuner and any non-Tuner LIGHT or DARK monster(s), so supremely easy to summon if you run any of the two most popular Attributes in the game. If you don’t have a Tuner, it’s fine cause any LIGHT or DARK monster can be treated as said Tuner to Synchro Summon this, so literally any LIGHT/DARK strategy gets to run this without any issue. Upon being Special Summoned, you can target a card on the field and banish it, making for nice removal. Finally, you get some effects depending on the Synchro Materials where if you used a LIGHT monster, all your Synchro Monsters are unaffected by all activated monster effects from the opponent, and if you used a DARK monster, all your monsters cannot be destroyed in battle. Overall two good protection effects, the second one being for your entire board just for using a DARK monster is nice. The LIGHT effect only affecting your Synchros is more than fair considering otherwise your plays could go through with less interruption likely to happen. It’s a powerful Synchro for whatever can make it, which is a lot of strategies. We got a ton of LIGHT and DARK Decks and the game and at the bare minimum, some Synchro-centric strategies do use LIGHT or DARK monsters in the Extra Deck at the bare minimum to climb into this. It’s an insanely good card to add to the legacy of the Chaos genre in this game’s history.

Chaos Angel is today’s topic, a level 10 DARK Fiend Synchro monster. Requiring any Tuner (more on that later) and a LIGHT or DARK non-Tuner, Chaos Angel is pretty clearly geared towards the Chaos Synchro support from Darkwing Blast, given how relatively easy it is for them to make level 10 Synchros. Chaos Angel has a meaty stat spread of 3500 attack and 2800 defense, so if nothing else, it’s a very solid beater.

Notably, Chaos Angel can use any LIGHT or DARK monster as its Tuner, so you don’t even need to use a Tuner at all to summon it (though ideally you’ll still want both attributes). Branded decks have seen success splashing it due to Bystials being level 6 and many of their other main deck monsters being level 4, though decks like Dragon Link can also easily make it the old-fashioned way. Chaos Angel’s first effect isn’t once per turn, letting you target and banish any card on the field if it’s Synchro Summoned. As a boardbreaker, this effect is nice, though I wish it was easier to summon on your opponent’s turn to take advantage of it as disruption. Chaos Angel also gains the following bonus effects depending on its Synchro materials, gaining both if you used both attributes. If it had a LIGHT Synchro material, all of your Synchro monsters are unaffected by activated monster effects. They’ll still be vulnerable to Spells and Traps, but incidentally, you can still cheese matchups against popular decks like Kashtira, because if you used a DARK Synchro material, all of your monsters are protected from being destroyed by battle as well. This effectively makes Chaos Angel (and any other Synchro monsters you happen to have) invincible to anything but tributing for cost and backrow removal. While Chaos Angel itself isn’t much to write home about, being easy to summon and able to steal games against unprepared decks make it a welcome addition to any deck that can summon it with both bonus effects.
