I haven’t done the math for Centaur of Attention, so I’m not going to quote the numbers and the probabilities here. You’re basically playing a variant of Yahtzee when you use him, though – if you have any familiarity at all with Yahtzee, you’re probably already formulating a strategy for when to reroll his stored values. And you don’t have to do the math to know that rolling five dice at a time is advantageous, including for cards other than the Centaur himself. Anything that cares about or modifies dice rolls gets five to work with every turn he stays in play. That means his name might refer to your opponent’s targeting priorities, so plan accordingly.

I feel it’d be remiss not to point out that “Centaur of Attention” is also the name of an episode of the hilarious and epic Impractical Jokers.

Centaur of Attention is a lot of words to describe a potential body that’s as big as 9/9; while it’s unlikely for you to be so unlucky as to just make this a 4/4, you’re just paying for what’s effectively a big, vanilla beater. It’s a beater that you can try to make bigger each time combat starts, and it does synergize with dice rolls, but a chronic lack of keywords means that he’s reliant on assistance to really command the spotlight.

Constructed: 1
Casual: 3.5
Limited: 4 (being just a big body can actually help out a lot here)
Multiplayer: 1.5
Commander [EDH]: 1.5
