So the new Booster is upon us this Friday, so let’s not waste time and dive right in. This new Shiranui is a bit on the soul heavy-side, so not that much synergy with Mukuro going on, but it’s a +1 to you and it forces the calling of a Dominate target, although if the opponent calls a crap unit that cannot reach 11k with your Stride skill, you’re down a play…unless they call over. Then you’re +2 up and have rear-guards like Metsu and Fuurai ready to power up every dominated attack. The Stride skill is basically a mandatory 9k target-er if you want to hit the Vanguard, so you’d need to use the first skill twice to turn a 7k into an 11k or use Madoi right off the bat.

Solid but needs good soul management on your part.

What’s up, Rogue Squad?!  Since the sneak peek of G Set 14 just passed and the pack itself drops this Friday, what better time to start talking about the new cards than now?  With that in mind, we’re looking at the new Shiranui, Zanki.  Fun fact: this was the first rare I pulled in my sneak peek packs, so I thought that it’s pretty badass that it’s also the first card we get to look at for the new set.  Zanki, while more Soul reliant than Oboro, is still a great way to force your opponent to call cards from their hand and to have easy Dominate targets.  However, Zanki only gives a 2k boost unlike Oboro’s 4k boost, but the exchange is that Zanki can pick your own rear guards to power up in ads your opponent doesn’t have any good targets to force a Dominate attack, but even if they don’t, the fact that Zanki can still proct a Dominate attack to trigger Maimodanuki, Tamahagane Metsu, Fuurai and Genkai is still great.  Zanki is overall a solid card to help manipulate your opponent’s in a same, yet unique, kind of way.
