Lord of the Rings Trading Card Game - Decipher

While at the Toy Fair, we stopped off to visit the folks at Decipher.  They make several CCG's: Star Wars, Young Jedi, Star Trek, Austin Powers, and soon ... The Lord of the Rings Trading Card Game.  They will be making a regular CCG, as well as Digital trading card games for the epic adventure Trilogy.

Decipher "plans to use the film itself, and photo-realistic images generated in-house on their own state-of-the-art Silicon Graphics systems to illustrate both the TCG and it's Digital Counterpart."

The Premiere Edition of the CCG cards are expected to be released in November 2001. 

New Line Cinema Press Release Info:

• In 2000, The Lord of the Rings was named the most popular book of the 20th Century.

• Beginning on December 19, 2001, New Line Cinema will present a trilogy of live-action films based on the 3 books.  These movies will mark the return of Cliffhanger Cinema.

• All 3 films are being shot at the same time by the same director & cast.

• More than 1000 effect shots are being produced.
