Charmander

himself informs us that this is the first time a
Charmander has
ever been reviewed on CotD.
That’s pretty astonishing when you consider that
CotD has been going for
nearly 14 years and during that time 20
Charmanders have been
released. I feel kind of honoured to be doing this.
Luckily, this Charmander
isn’t too bad. Or to be more accurate he is a better
than average evolving Basic. He earns that status by
doing something that is actually helpful to his
evolution line: the Draw In attack can be used to help
to supply the frankly silly Energy requirements of
Charizard by attaching a
couple of Fire from the discard pile.
Of course there is the strong possibility that
Charmander won’t survive
long enough to evolve, or that
Charizard will be underwhelming as usual.
Nevertheless, you can’t really criticize this
Charmander: he is trying his
best.
Rating
Modified: 2.5 (who knows? One day he may get the Stage 2
he deserves)
Limited: 2.75 (if you manage to pull the whole line)
