Ability: **This ship gets +1 to her boarding rolls.
There are a lot of crew out there that give +1 on
boarding rolls. Most of them cost 4 points, which is
excessive. This one costs only 2 (the WizKids card
gallery says 4, but that's not what my card says),
which is the cheapest you can pay for this ability.
Is it worth it? +1 equals a 17% improvement in your
chances of winning a boarding action, which isn't
bad. The trouble is, boarding isn't a very good
tactic, because you usually have to ram to do it,
and that gets you pinned. If you want gold, boarding
is a waste of time; if your goal is to kill enemy
crew, it's a better deal. Putting this crew on a
ship like HMS Viceroy, which cannot be pinned, would
be the best use for him.
The ability isn't great, but the price is right, so
I give the Noose above-average marks.
