Japanese Dragon Ball  - Episode Summaries

Episode 125 - Kami Appears

Series: Dragon Ball

Version: Japanese-subbed

Episode Title and Number: 125. “Kami Appears”

Mr. Popo tells Goku to go home. Goku yells out that he must meet Kami, so that his friends can be revived. Mr. Popo ignores Goku, walking away. Goku gets mad, and runs at Popo. Mr. Popo easily dodges or blocks each hit from Goku, and bashes him to the ground. Mr. Popo says Goku is weak. Goku gets up, and becomes excited by Popo’s strength. Popo says that ever since Goku defeated Piccolo Daimioh, he had thought he was the best. Popo says there is always someone stronger, and Goku sadly agrees. Mr. Popo once again tell Goku to go home, but Goku still refuses. Goku asks if he can train right now, and Popo says yes, but it won’t help. Goku thanks Popo, and starts running around the palace. Popo says Goku has good character.

Meanwhile, at Kame House, Bulma, Lunch (bad form), Oolong, Puar, Yamcha, and Umigame are sitting around. They are wondering if Goku is really going to meet Kami-sama. Oolong isn’t sure if he should believe in Kami-sama or not, angering Lunch, who slams him down.

Outside Kame House, Tenshinhan is training. Tenshinhan says that he will train and win the next Tenkaichi Budokai, by becoming stronger than Goku.  Back at Kami’s palace, Goku has become tired from simply running around, and Mr. Popo says it is because of the thinner air. Popo adds that Goku uses too much unneccesary movement. He says Goku must be faster than lightning and quiet as the sky. Goku says that it sounds hard. Popo says Goku must empty his soul, so Goku makes his face look like Mr. Popo’s. Popo says Goku is doing it wrong. Mr. Popo says Goku must also be faster than lightning. Mr.  Popo fades, and appears behind Goku, facing away from him. Goku is shocked.

Popo says Goku has his right hand on his face, and Goku asks how he knew. Mr.  Popo says that you must not see with your eyes, but with your senses. Goku is impressed, and Popo says he has learned alot from Kami. Goku asks if Kami is greater than Popo, and Popo says yes. Goku becomes excited. Goku asks why Kami didn’t defeat Piccolo Daimioh, and Popo says that Kami has his reasons.  Goku says he will not leave no matter what.

Meanwhile, 2 patrol officers are flying through a forest on their jet bikes.  They have heard of an intruder nearby. They get off of their bikes, and find a fallen bear. They conclude that it was hit by something with great power.  They find some foot steps, and follow them. They find little Piccolo, and run to him. They ask why he is in the forest, what his name is, and where his parents are. They say he shouldn’t be playing in the forest alone. Piccolo suddenly crushes one of their guns with his hand. The officers are in fear, and the other officer threatens to shoot if Piccolo comes any closer. Piccolo walks forward, and the officer shoots. Piccolo fires a beam, which stops the bullets, causing them to drop harmlessly to the ground. The officers run off in fear.

Back at Kami’s palace, Goku is wondering about being faster than lightning and quiet as the sky. Mr. Popo asks Goku if Karin gave him a bell, and Goku hands it over. Popo puts the bell on his belt, and says he will fight Goku one more time. Goku attacks, but is easily defeated by Mr. Popo yet again.  Popo asks if Goku noticed anything, and Goku realizes that the bell didn’t ring. Goku wonders how, and he thinks it was a joke. Popo tells Goku to go home, and starts walking away, saying he doesn’t like jokes. Goku tells Popo to wait, and he remembers a time from his training with KameSennin. He, Kuririn, and KameSennin were on tall rocks, with buckets of water on their heads. KameSennin was able to move without spilling the water, but Goku and Kuririn weren’t. The flashback ends, and Goku says that the bell and buckets must be linked. Goku realizes the bell didn’t ring because Popo didn’t use unneccesary movement. Popo becomes happy. Goku wants to train and become as strong as Mr. Popo, but Popo says that would take years of training, which disappoints Goku. Popo asks if Goku is still willing to train, and he agrees.  They suddenly hear Kami’s voice, and Kami says he likes Goku, and wants to meet him. Goku is happy.

Meanwhile, at Karin Tower, Karin tells Yajirobe that Goku will fall over when he sees Kami’s face.

Back at Kami’s palace, Kami emerges from inside the palace, and he looks just like old Piccolo Daimioh. Goku thinks it is Piccolo Daimioh, and he attacks, only to be flicked away by Kami. Popo catches Goku, and says though Kami looks like Piccolo, he isn’t. Goku calms down, and Popo places him back to the ground. Kami says that he and Piccolo used to be the same person. He had wanted to become the new Kami, but the previous Kami wouldn’t accept him, because of evil in his heart. Kami had extracted the evil out, which formed into Piccolo Daimioh, who went to rule the world. The flashback ends. Goku finally understands, and he is surprised. Kami says that he can’t grant Goku’s wish, but he can bring back the Dragon Balls. Goku is happy. The episode ends.
