Running Time: 109 minutes
Rating: B- Story
Duke Red, the evil mastermind behind the controlling of Metropolis, puts his son (adopted), Rock, in charge of the a cop force to control all robots, who are given a zone (the city is cut into 4 diffrent zones, ground, 1, 2, and 3) restrictions, and shoot them if they leave. Meanwhile, Duke Red is building the Ziggurat, a tower designed to control all of the robots.

Meanwhile, Duke Red also hired Dr. Laughton, a mad scientist, to build an android (robot) that will run the Ziggurat. But Rock finds out, and with a hope to have his father run the city, destroys the lab, and Dr. Laughton, but fails to kill Tima, the small android Dr. Laughton modelled of Duke Red's former daughter.

Kenichi, with his Japanese detective of an uncle Shunsaku Ban are in Metropolis to find Dr. Laughton for importing human organs and putting them in androids. When they get to his lab, it is ablaze, and Kenichi finds Tima...

Thats all I realy want to give out, so buy (or rent :-) ) it to find out the rest.

Packaging
Actually, I think that the packaging is kind of ugly, with pink and black swirls with Tima, the female android on the cover. The back is the same, basically, and the summary is moderate with pictures taken from the movie.

English
The English version is great! I think that the voices are casted perfect (they sound like they should, even like their Japanese counterpart) and the sound is crisp to perfection. There are a few obvious flaws, but I find it a lot easier to believe the guy on the English version is a mad scientist as compared to the Japanese guy who talks like everyone else in the city. Tima's voice, however, is going to haunt me for years to come. Luckily she only talks through half the movie... Duke Red's voice was casted perfectly, along with the detective.

Japanese
What is there to say? It was great. Even though I can relate to the English voices better (I am an American), the Japanese voices are done the way they should. The Duke Red is hella scary! I like listening to Japanese voices to see if I can translate anything (I'm in Japanese).

Video
The animation is great. The colors are done great, the characters are drawn not so realalistically, but it looks great. The director of Akira and the artist of Astroboy come together to great brilliant drawings and a perfect background a scenary.
