BMoor's Magic The Gathering Deck Garage
ERRATUM: Graft and Force of Savagery
December 5, 2007

After reading the deck fix I did just before Thanksgiving, reader Andrew sent me this E-mail:
Hey,

You mentioned some uncertainty about being able to use Llanowar Reborn and Force of Savagery together in your 11/23 article. Just to clarify, yeah, the interaction doesn't work. The graft ability is a triggered ability, so it goes on the stack, but since Force of Savagery dies due to a state-based effect, he leaves play before the trigger can resolve. Still not a bad addition, though :)

~Andrew
I just wanted to make sure everyone saw that.  Apparently, you can't use Graft cards to cheat Force of Savagery into play as a 9/1.  So anyone who read that article and decided to try it: sorry, it doesn't work.  I added Llanowar Reborn to that deck knowing full well the trick might not work, because it seemed like a worthy card to add to the deck regardless.  But I wouldn't want to have passed false information to you.

Incidentally, I welcome all Magic-based E-mails, with or without decklists.  So, if you just have a question, send that along to me too.  They're actually easier to deal with than full decklists, because I can answer them faster. ;-)

Until next time!

~BMoor
