1.26.05 First of all, I'd like to extend a huge apology for my screwup last article.
The Heart of the Underdog "infinite" draw
combo DOES actually work. See my last review for the full correction.
There have also been 5 winners chosen, and so far two of me have
		e-mailed their decks.
Oh, and, the correct solution (other than
the Heart of the Underdog one) was actually posted right here on Pojo's
COTD (as I'm sure some of you figured out).
Go to the Magical Merchant COTD, it's in
EMoD's review. The idea basically centers around Magical Mercant + some
spell/trap card (Blasting the Ruins seems to be the most popular idea
among the submitted solutions). There are plenty of other ways that I'm
sure you all can think up.
		Without further ado:
CONTEST WINNER #3 (3rd Correct Submitted
Solution) Hey Zealotpker, Ive run my fair share of deck types, DM, chaos, warrior, control, removallol, but Ive been thinking about Red Eyes Darkness Dragon, I personally think that this card has the potential to have a massive attack strength, so Ive built a deck around it, hoping to maximise on its effect.
 Red Eyes Darkness Deck,
Monsters; 18 1x Red Eyes Darkness Dragon 1x Jinzo 2x Red Eyes Black Dragon
3x Red Eyes Black Chick 3x Masked Dragon 3x Spear Dragon 2x Luster Dragon #1 (1900, I cant remember if its #1 or #2) 1x Magical Scientist 1x Tribe Infecting Virus 1x Sinister Serpent
Magic; 14 1x Pot of Greed 1x Snatch Steal 1x Change of Heart 1x Premature Burial 1x Swords of Revealing Light 1x Painful Choice 2x Scapegoat 2x Smashing Ground (maybe nobleman?) 2x Enemy Controller 1x Creature Swap 1x Inferno Fire Blast
Traps; 8 1x Torrential Tribute 1x Magic Cylinder 1x Ring of Destruction 1x Call of the Haunted 2x Divine Wrath 2x Dragons Rage
Ok, this deck hasnt been tested as I thought that the structure decks werent coming out for awhile, then yesterday there outthough I wont have them for awhile since I live in Australia. Anyways, any help would be great, Thanks, Connor
Well, for all those that don't know what Red Eyes Darkness Dragon does,

					Dragon/Effect
					Level 9 ATK/2400 DEF/2000
					Well, since
REDD [Red Eyes Darkness Dragon] can attack directly, there's
really no need for Dragon Rage.
					-2 Dragon
					Rage
					Also, with
all the REBDs an REDDs, it's not like we need more tribs:
					-Jinzo
					Now, the goal
is to get out a HUGE REBD and do a ton of damage with it,
					right?
					So, let's max
out on that damage and add in some Troop Dragons:
					+3 Troop
					Dragon
					Also, let's
add in some protection for your dragons:
					-2 Luster
					Dragon
					-Spear Dragon
					+3 Lord of D
					And, a bit
					more:
					-2 Divine
					Wrath
					-Enemy
					Controller
					+3
					Interdimensional Matter Transporter
					And finally,
let's add in some more REDDs and REBDs:
					-2 Spear
					Dragon
					+REBD +REDD
					Actually,
since you run Scapegoats, Chicks, and Serpent, lets add in 2
					Morphs for stall:
					-3 Lord of D.
					+2
					Metamorphosis
					+1 Inferno
					Fire Blast
					And to add
					some speed:
					-Enemy
					Controller
					+Card
Destruction Monsters; 17 2x Red Eyes Darkness Dragon 3x Red Eyes Black Dragon
3x Red Eyes Black Chick 3x Masked Dragon 3x Troop Dragon 1x Magical Scientist 1x Tribe Infecting Virus 1x Sinister Serpent
Magic; 16 1x Pot of Greed 1x Snatch Steal 1x Change of Heart 1x Premature Burial 1x Swords of Revealing Light 1x Painful Choice 2x Metamorphosis 2x Scapegoat 2x Smashing Ground 1x Card Destruction 1x Creature Swap 2x Inferno Fire Blast
Traps; 7 1x Torrential Tribute 1x Magic Cylinder 1x Ring of Destruction 1x Call of the Haunted 3x Interdimensional Matter Transporter
Well, that's your fixed deck, I'm not sure how competitive it will be, but it looks pretty fun!
Now, it is time for our HALF-TIME SHOW!
 *insert random annoying commercials here*
Ok, just kidding, but we have one more fix to go, and then some e-mails.
 So, without further ado:
Contest Winner #5 (5th Correct Submitted Solution)

						Woohoo! I won!

						Anyways, here is my
current deck. It got me my first top 8 in Advanced
format last week. I didn't win, but I'm hoping to do
						better soon.
						Monsters (16)
						2x Mobius
						1x Airknight
						3x Berserk Gorilla
						1x Breaker
						1x Tribe
						1x DDWL
						1x Exiled
						1x Fiber
						1x Scientist
						1x Sinister
						3x Spirit Reaper
						Magic/Spell (18)
						3x Scapegoat
						2x Metamorphosis
						2x Creature Swap
						2x Nobleman
						1x Painful Choice
						1x Snatch Steal
						1x Heavy Storm
						1x Premature
						1x Change of Heart
						1x SoRL
						1x MST
						1x Enemy Controller
						1x PoG
						Traps (7)
						1x Torrential
						1x Call
						1x Ring
						2x Sakuretsu Armor
						2x Bottomless
						Total (41)
						Notes: It's a
beatdown/control hybrid, with some personal taste mixed
in. It has some good protection with removal as a bonus
						effect. I like removal.
I cannot get my hands on
any more DDWL. The one I got cost me an arm and a leg.
						I know I have a lot of
"Change of Heart"-like cards, but I like taking my
opponent's stuff. It also helps since I'm running three
						tributes.
						Thanks in advance for
						any help.
						Interesting deck, but I
think the themes might clash a bit. Well, let me take a
closer look at the deck and I'll decide...
						Well, if it's control, I
						suggest first of all
						-Fiber Jar
						+D.D.WarriorLady
						Also, the Gorillas can be
replaced with better beatsticks. Try Kycoo the Ghost
						Destroyer/King Tiger Wanghu.
						-3 Berserk Gorilla
						+3 King Tiger Wanghu/Kycoo
						the Ghost Destroyer
						Also, I'm personally against
2 Swaps, they are too easy to get used against you (i.e.
chained Goats). So why don't we run another Enemy
						Controller instead?
						-Creature Swap
						+Enemy Controller
						Actually, the deck looks
pretty good. MST and Swords of Revealing Light are kinda
iffy, and you may want to try..
						-SoRL
						-MST
						+Confiscation
						+The Forceful Sentry
						Prenegation is always great
to have, try them at least.
						So, the final deck should
						look like:
							Monsters (16)
							2x Mobius
							1x Airknight
							3x King Tiger
							Wanghu/Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer
							1x Breaker
							1x Tribe
							2x DDWL
							1x Exiled
							1x Scientist
							1x Sinister
							3x Spirit Reaper
							Magic/Spell (18)
							3x Scapegoat
							2x Metamorphosis
							1x Creature Swap
							2x Nobleman
							1x Painful Choice
							1x Snatch Steal
							1x Heavy Storm
							1x Premature
							1x Change of Heart
							1x Confiscation
							1x The Forceful Sentry
							2x Enemy Controller
							1x PoG
							Traps (7)
							1x Torrential
							1x Call
							1x Ring
							2x Sakuretsu Armor
							2x Bottomless
							Good luck with the deck,
hopefully you can qualify next time!
							Now for e-mails:

my kids have been trying to duel there
friends but when i looked in on some of there
games it didn't look like they where playing it
right. when i look at the cartoon they have
cards with hidden powers and i was wondering how
do you find out how to play the game right and
use these powers. can use please tell me where i
can get something to tell how the game is played
in more detail. because they would like to enter
								some tournaments. thank you

Now, for our next e-mail, and the last one
									that's getting posted today:
Hey, First of all I'm hearing a lot
about the Metagame and Aggro decks, but
what exactly do they mean? Also I'm
seeing a lot of decks running Enraged
Battle Ox and Berserk Gorillas, with the
										new advanced format and The
										Reinforcement of the Army replacing
										searchers, couldn't you
replace your Gorillas with Goblin Attack
Forces and maybe a Spear Dragon for the
Battle Ox. I mean is there a huge
difference? B/c Goblins make you immune
to enemy controllers, zero gravity, etc.
that could be used on Gorillas. Also,
are there any knew cards from say Soul
of the Duelist, Rise of Destiny or Dark
Beginning 1 that might see some
tournament play? I heard that Divine
Wrath did well in Regionals are there
										any more?    ---Thanks, Ethan
Well, Ethan, I'm not sure whether you
want me to define Metagame or Aggro, so
										I'll do both:
										metagame: noun: used to
refer to basically the entire tier 1
tournament scene, or the decks used
										therein
										Examples:
The current metagame is Burn, Goat
										Control, Warrior Chaos, and Aggro
										Control.
California has a very strong metagame.
The Japanese metagame has a larger card
										pool than the English one.
										tier: noun: used to
describe how good a deck (or
occasionally player is), a lower number
being better (you'd expect to see tier 1
decks at Nationals, whereas tier 3 decks
would be for casual play...in this
system, anything worse than that doesn't
										even get a tier)
										Examples:
He never misplays, he's a Tier 1 player.
Scientist FTK is Tier 2 in Advanced
										Format.
Mokey Mokey decks are Tier 3.
										aggro: used to describe
										aggressive decks (aggro is basically
										short for aggressive)
										Examples:
His Aggro Control was too fast for me.
Warrior Aggro eats its own hand up
										quickly.
Come prepared for Control, Burn, and
										Aggro at Regionals.
Well, Berserk Gorilla can keep on
attacking, whereas GAF can only attack
once every two turns, and is a sitting
duck for the rest of the time.
Also, Enraged Battle Oxe is more solid
than Spear Dragon because it doesn't go
to defense, meaning your opponent can't
just attack it and kill it right away.
Also, it's effect extends to other
										Beasts, always a nice thing.
Some good cards that came out lately are
										Mobius the Forst Monarch, Monster
										Reincarnation, and Divine Wrath, among
others. I suggest you look at Pojo's
spoilers for full lists, as there's
										plenty of good theme-specific cards.
And yes, there are more regionals. Check
										here:

										http://www.upperdeckentertainment.com/op/yugiohop/regional/schedule.aspx
Well, that's all for today. To the 3
contest winners that haven't sent in
there decks, please hurry, so I can put
them up in my next deck review.
										Peace out,
										zealotpker
