What's happening'! I
am back somewhat earlier then usual because I will be
away from a computer for the next week, and wanted to
make sure I got my weekly deck fix in. I was chatting
with WickEd over AIM recently, and he was telling me
about his next article, which was posted Monday, about
spirits. It was a great article I must say, very
						informing!

Lets get to the deck, today's deck is coming from Nathan
from my own home state of Louisiana!

						Hey Rj,

My name is Nathan and I'm from Greensburg, LA. I would
						really be honored
if you could fix my deck before I go into any
						tournaments. It has been doing
alright against some of my friends, but I don't think it
						is ready for
mainstream. I run the basic Dark Magician/Dark Paladin
						Deck (no chaos and I
don't plan on going there, ha, ha). Anyway, I am usually
						a very aggressive
player. I like to attack without remorse, but if
						necessary put up a defense
long enough to mount a blitzkrieg of offense. I have a
						pretty good hold on
a lot of cards so feel free to mention anything (except
						chaos, Ha). The deck
						goes like this:

						Monsters - 18

						Dark Magician of Chaos
						Dark Magician
						Dark Magician
						Jinzo
						Skilled Dark Magician
						Skilled Dark Magician
						King of The Swamps
						King of The Swamps
						Double Coston
						Breaker The Magical Warrior
						Apprentice Magician
						Apprentice Magician
						Old Vinidictive Magician
						Magician of Faith
						Magician of Faith
						Tribe-Infecting Virus
						Sangan
						Spirit Reaper

						Spells - 17

						Thousand Knives
						Big Bang Shot
						Graceful Charity
						Dedication Through Light and Darkness
						Scapegoat
						Scapegoat
						Polymerization
						Creature Swap
						Swords of Revealing Light
						Mystical Space Typhoon
						Deliquent Duo
						Metamorphosis
						Snatch Steal
						Pot of Greed
						Premature Burial
						Dark Core
						Heavy Storm

						Traps - 10

						Waboku
						Waboku
						Raigeki Break
						Call of the Haunted
						Magic Cylinders
						Ceasefire
						Mirror Force
						Ring of Destruction
						Torrential Tribute
						Magic Drain

						Fusion - 5

						Dark Paladin
						Dark Flare Knight
						Ryu Senshi
						Reaper on the Nightmare
						Thousans-Eyes Restrict

						Total - 45 (yikes)

So Rj, there you have it. Any help will be greatly
						appreciated and I thank
						you for your time.

This was the 3rd spellcaster typed deck I have seen
today in my inbox from readers, so I knew this was a
sign, Spellcasters must be fixed! The first thing I
notice about your deck is it is pretty big, 45 is a nice
sized number. Although I recall in the shonen jump
tournament in Pomona, they had a lockdown deck sitting
at table...3 I think it was that ran 45 cards. But
that's no excuse for this deck xD.

My plan is to cut 4 traps, and one monster to make it 40
cards even. Out of all 10 of your traps, I only like 6,
which by the way is how much we need xD. So the new trap
						set up is...

						Traps x6

						Magic Cylinder
						Ceasefire
						Mirror Force
						Call Of The Haunted
						Torrential Tribute
						Ring Of Destruction

Now although the Ceasefire and Magic Cylinder trap cards
are not really needed, they sure are helpful sometimes,
and thus, they make it into the final build. The magic
build is pretty janky as well, so the new one will be...

						Magic's x17

						Pot Of Greed
						Delinquent Duo
						Graceful Charity
						Nobleman Of Crossout x2
						Lightning Vortex
						Snatch Steal
						Heavy Storm
						Mystical Space Typhoon
						Premature Burial
						Scapegoat x3
						Metamorphosis x2
						Swords Of Revealing Light
						Book Of Moon

Eh...The single BoM kinda seems out of place, but we had
room and its a solid card, I don't think I am forgetting
anything here, but I, AM, these early in the morning
when I first get up (Its about 6:45 here). That's 23
cards total, so now lets get the other 17, monsters!
This is gonna be the easiest part, a lot of the stuff is
gonna be ran in 2's and 3's...

						Monsters x17

						Dark Magician Of Chaos
						Jinzo
						Magician Of Faith x2
						Old Vindictive Magician
						Apprentice Magician x2
						Tsukuyomi x2
						Kycoo The Ghost Destroyer x2
						Spirit Reaper
						Breaker The Magical Warrior
						Tribe Infecting Virus
						Sinister Serpent
						Skilled Dark Magician x2

Ok, so that's the deck. I know what your thinking, I
took out the dark magicians, I know I know. I just don't
like them, you wanted a competitive deck, like, a real
competitive deck, so that's what I made. I left the
Skilled Darks in there, their beatsticks, and if your
cool like me, you use a dice to keep track of the spell
counters even though you have no Dark Magician in your
deck, just to be cool ;).

You have the whole Goat Control thing in it, with about
13 spellcasters, 2 tributes, and a lot of apprentice
magician action in there as well. You have a little bit
of everything in the deck, and I hope you liked the
fixes Nathan! The side deck should have some basic
stuff, like King Tiger Whangus and Kinetic Soldiers (If
that's your thing) and also some stuff like Card
Destruction couldn't hurt if you have the room.

Well, guys, that's it for today guys, I will be rather
busy for about a week and a half, but I will get one
more article in between Now and Nationals...;)...
