Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Infernity Randomizer
#TSHD-EN013

Once per turn, while you have no cards in your hand, you can draw 1 card and reveal it. For a Monster Card drawn with this effect, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the Level of that monster x 200. For a Spell or Trap Card, you take 500 damage

Infernity Randomizer ...

Hmmm ... He's ok. Half the Infernity monsters don't have any ATK, so as one of the few that has a semblance of one, he's worth at least a little bit of a look. No cards in hand and the Randomizer lets u draw. If u get a monster, u get to burn your opponent a bit. If ur lucky, near the end of the the duel, that little burn will win it for u. Best case scenario is that u draw into an Infernity Archfiend. Opponent will burn for 800, and u'll get to special summon it and pull another Infernity card from your deck. If u draw into a spell or trap - U lose 500 points. Honestly? - that's not such a huge heavy loss, seeing as how u just got an extra draw and now have another spell or trap in your hand that u should be more than happy to use or set, so now your hand is clear once again.

He's a fun card, and when u are using his effect, usually his benefits outweigh any of his drawbacks. His only 'failing' is that he's not part of the Infernity 'Inner Circle' (Launcher, Beetle, Necromancer, and Archfiend), meaning that he's not involved in any specific loop, kick-but combo. There are a few u can set up with him, but it would take an investment in other cards that would severely water and slow down an Infernity deck.

So for what he is and what he can do, Randomizer can hang OUT with the cool kids, ... but he's just 'Screech', while the rest of the Infernitys are 'Slater' and 'Zack Morris'.

Otaku

Infernity Randomizer is a toughie: it’s a Level 1 Dark/Warrior/Effect monster with 900 ATK and 0 DEF.  The good news is that the low stats make it an easily searched out card (like many other Infernity monsters) and also an easy to retrieve (from the discard) via Recurring Nightmare.

If you’ve got no cards in your hand, the effect of Infernity Randomizer lets you draw a card.  If it’s a monster, you get a nice bonus: 200 points of damage to the opponent per level of the monster.  So if you top deck Tragoedia with it, that’s a fat 2000 points of burn.  If it’s a Spell or Trap, you take 500 damage instead.

My understanding of using this card is you don’t want to Normal Summon it all that often.  You can (especially if you need to clear your hand for other effects), and then use it to draw when your hand no longer needs to be empty, but either way you need to get a Tuner into play and Synchro it into something more useful.  It’s small and a liability otherwise.  Fortunately Infernity decks excel at emptying their hands and swarming, so that should be just fine.

Scores are for Infernity decks, not general ratings (though you might be able to create an interesting deck around the burn effect).

Infernity Randomizer

Infernity Randomizer is one of the many cards thrown into an archetype that don't really do anything. This card isn't worth summoning when you can instead initiate the Infernity Loop and win, and it also encourages a weak control playstyle. It's certainly pretty good, but it's so overshadowed that it becomes worthless in the only deck it can work in.

Art:  Hm, I indeed declare it to be quite random.
Fun Fact: If you want random, watch the Demented Cartoon Movie or I'll find you.
Tomorrow: Bugs get me all bugged out!

Infernity Randomizer

Note: This reviewer has read the rulings on Randomizer and will assume you can keep the card you draw and reveal. If not, DISREGARD THIS, I SUCK AT REVIEWS.

Unlike the new Blackwing support, the Infernity support that has been released thus far is actually quite solid. Infernity Randomizer, Destroyer, Break, Guardian (not in TSHD), and others are all examples of well-designed cards that can have amazing effects in slower formats.

Randomizer, to me, belongs in a Messenger of Peace based deck. In this capacity, it's actually better than Des Lacooda (because it's faster) and deals slight burn damage. Imagine a deck based around Infernity Guardian and Infernity Randomizer, backed by lockdown spell or trap cards, that lets you instantly recoup card advantage. If your opponent manages to take one off the board, Necromancer will retrieve them!

The drawback to this type of deck is that Necromancer or Launcher retrieving Archfiend is a far potent play. So I suspect heavy hits to the Infernity engine will be required before more balanced cards in the Infernity toolset can shine.
