Dark Paladin

Monday

Dargunity Knight-Vajrayana is a Level 6, Wind attributed, Dragon-type Synchro Monster, who is Synchro Summoned with a Dragon-type Tuner and one or more non-Tuner, Winged-Beast type monster.  This card has 1900 attack and 1200 defense.

Let's look at the beginning.  A specific Tuner type required, and even specific non-Tuner monsters.  They are trying to make an Archtype out of this, and I personally don't think it's working.  Now, on the plus side, you can Equip a level 3 or lower monster to this card.

Wait, it has to be a Dragon type (which isn't the end of the world) but it also has to be a "Dragunity" type mosnter.  By sending said Equip card to the Graveyard, you can double this cards attack until the End Phase.  3800 attack is good, but just use something stronger to begin with.

Now, you have to send the card equipped to the Graveyard to get the effect, it just seems too useless, too situational, difficult to summon, yes I'm being hard on this card but it looks cool.

Knight
The Legion

We open the week with Dragunity Knight – Vajrayana, who has an almost suggestive name, just like his buddy Gae Daerg. Vaj is a 6 star wind dragon synchro with a measly 1900 ATK and 1200 DEF. Just by looking at his stats, you may rule him out already, but he has an effect that almost kinda makes up for it. First off, Vaj takes a dragon tuner and winged beast non tuners, which is the formula for Dragunities. When it is synchro summoned, you can select a level 3 or lower dragon type Dragunity and equip it to Vaj as an equip spell. What I know about the Dragunities is that the winged beasts bring out the dragons, and the dragons are union monsters that equip to the others, so there shouldn’t be a problem finding a target. Also, once per turn, Vaj can send an equip card attached to him to the grave to double his attack until the end phase, putting him at a sturdy 3800. Unfortunately, he’s a sitting duck next turn. Overall, not a bad card for the Draguity deck, but it could be better.

Why do all the Dragunitys have dirty sounding names?

Anyway, todays card is another Dragunity synchro. He's a level 6 WIND type Dragon synchro monster with 1900 attack and 1200 defense.

Like the rest of the Dragunity's he requires a dragon tuner and a winged beast synchro materal.

When he's synchro summoned you can choose a level 3 or lower Dragunity monster and equip it to this card. And once per turn you can send an equip card equipped to this card to double its attack untill the end phase making it a 3800

This is....crap.

Big beaters are nice and all, but theres so much anti attacking cards out there, he's unlikely to get to attack, unless your opponent has no backrows.

Traditional- 1/5
Advanced 2/5 (Dragunity decks only)
Art- A dragon rider riding through a storm....not bad.

Pheano

Hey Pojo, Pheano here with another Card Of The Day For you.

Today we will be taking a look at Dragunity Knight – Vajrayana. Dragunity Knight – Vajrayana is a Level six Wind Dragon Synchro Monster with nineteen hundred Attack and twelve hundred Defense. It’s effect reads; When this card is Synchro Summoned, you can select 1 Level 3 or lower Dragon-Type "Dragunity" monster in your Graveyard and equip it to this card as an Equip Card. Once per turn, you can send 1 Equip Card equipped to this card to the Graveyard to double this card's ATK until the End Phase.

Now it’s summoning condition may seem awkward but with in a Dragunity deck this is very easy to do. You can Normal Summon Dragunity Dux and then equip it with Dragunity Phalanx, then you can Special Summon the equipped Dragunity Phalanx from the Spell and Trap Card Zone and Synchro Summon Dragunity Knight – Vajrayana with Dragunity Dux and Dragunity Phalanx. Then you can equip this with the Dragunity Phalanx again and make a Level eight Synchro from there like Dragunity – Knight Barcha, which isn’t out in the TCG yet. Another good play is to equip this with Dragunity Aklys since when it is equipped and sent to the Graveyard it will destroy a card on the field so you will get to get a boosted Attack and destroy a card all for one Normal Summon, but again this card is not out in the TCG yet. Most of the time though I would rather make Dragunity Knight – Gae Bulg if I needed more muscle since it works on either players turn or Dragunity Knight – Gae Dearg for more set up. The real use of this card is to let you Normal Summon into a Level eight Synchro.

In the Traditional Format the Battle Phase isn’t very important so getting a double Attack will not impact.

Bottom line:
The Dragunity arch-type as a whole needs the rest of its OCG support before they become relevant in the metagame.

Advanced: 2/5

Dragunity Knight - Vajrayana is really, really good. A low-level Synchro that's easy to make with the low-level cards a Dragunity deck can pull out, that pulls out a free Dragon to equip when he's summoned, discardable to make a monstrous 3800 ATK strike. There's a Dragunity Tuner [I don't remember any names] that can summon itself if it's equipped, so Vajrayana jumps up to turn into another Synchro. That's really good.

It's an accessible card for the deck that really speeds it up, while giving it more options. His ATK score isn't very good, but then again you won't really need it, and the strength is in his effect.

4.5/5
Art: A lot of cards look like that.
