Dark Paladin
Ok, why are we reviewing Heavy Storm? It isn't Dinosaur support, it's support if you play a deck pretty much. I don't need to sit here and tell you how good it is and that you should be using it.

Ratings:

4.25/5 all around

Art: 4/5 Gotta love those weather pictures...that poor farmer, and that cow...tsk tsk tsk

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

Heavy Storm

What more can I say?

Mass destruction is mostly banned. Costless mass destruction is great. Run this! Virtually all decks benefit.

Heavy Storm

Heavy Storm is one of the few balanced forms of mass removal we have. It’s one of the best cards in the game.

Last Word: Heavy Storm is flat-out good. You can destroy all Spells and Traps without even thinking about it. Is it truly balanced? You could argue that all day. In my personal opinion: I think bad players make Heavy Storm seem unbalanced.

Heavy Storm

Broken. That is all. Good in pretty much almost everything.

Advanced Format: 4.95/5, there is never the perfect card, but this sure does come close

Traditional Format: 4.5/5 There's Harpies Feather Duster in this format

Turkeyspit Heavy Storm

I don't know why it's taken this long to review this card, but suffice to say, I imagine everyone reading this already knows what this card does, and how good it is.

Many people complain about this card, saying it's overpowered and should be banned. It is, afterall, a mass destruction card that has no cost or downside to it's effect, other then the fact that it destroys your own backfield, which can easily be avoided.

As much as this card can be a "lucky topdeck", Heavy Storm does manage to stimulate skillfull play. An inexperienced duelist will lose 2 or 3 S/T cards to Heavy Storm, where a skilled duelist will usually only lose 1.

Heavy Storm also prevents your opponent from overextending their S/T zones, setting every Trap they draw, so each can be activated as circumstances warrent. If Storm isn't in your opponent's Graveyard, a duelist has to choose between setting a Sakuretsu Armor or a Bottomless Trap Hole; setting both is risky, and invites the -1 from Heavy Storm.

Despite the fact that many a game has been lost by the lucky draw of this card, Heavy Storm is an integral part of the game, which would be far worse off were it to be Banned.

-----------------------------------------

Traditional:

5/5 - Eventhough they have Imperial Order and Harpies Feather Duster, mass removal is mass removal.

Advanced:

5/5 - Unless your deck revolves around many Continuous Spell / Trap cards, you run this.

Card Art:

5/5 - "Cow." "Another Cow". "Actually, I think that was the same one"

With the previous two reviews, which weren’t all that good, out of the way, we review a MUCH better card, one that everyone should be familiar with, and almost everyone (with exceptions) show play….

Heavy Storm
Normal Spell
Destroy all Spell and Trap Cards on the field.

This review is rather self explanatory. In most cases it will be anywhere from a 1 for 1 to a 5 for 1. If your deck does a lot of attacking, more than likely you should be playing this card. Clearing out the backfield so that your monsters can attack without worry is amazing.

And for those decks that may decide not to run Heavy Storm main decked, such as Burn, or Counter fairy, then you should probably place it in your side deck. You never know when a Continuous Spell and/or Trap might come down and give your deck major trouble (Decree anyone?)

I’d write a longer review, but I don’t think I really need to thoroughly explain why this card is so good.

Traditional: 4/5 (We still have Feather Duster, but this is still REALLY good)
Advanced: 5/5 (for most decks), 5/5 for the side decks of the players that don’t main this.
Art: 4/5 (Big tornado sweeping up a cow! What’s not to love?)

Heavy Storm
Group: Spell Card
Type: Spell
Destroy all Spell and Trap Cards on the field.

This card has the 'ronseal' effect of cards: short and effective, rivaling that of pot of greed.

This is a no brainers card, it can offer you a + 4, and in the hands of a good player should always offer you some sort of advantage out of it. It clears any possible threats out the way and has relatively little to counter it (in terms of commonly played cards). This is the single card in the advanced format that has players ashamed to set more then 2 face down magic/trap cards.

This card also works nicely in almost all deck, notice the almost. In some magic/trap heavy deck variants it's almost never played usually as these decks usually have a need to maintain their magic and trap cards. That being said those are few and far between.

This is one of the cards which comes as close to a staple status in the meta as it can do. Seriously, it's a common card from the Dino's Structure Deck, if you own one, play one
