Dark Paladin
Friday

Updraft closes our week, and it is rather unremarkable, and obviously only for the Cloudian deck.

Here it is, short and sweet folks. It is very easy to generate a lot of Fog Counters in the Cloudian deck, and it's also easy to generate the counters quickly. However, they generally have a better purpose then being destroyed, and 300 damage each isn't much.

Ratings:

1.5/5 all around. It does something, but minimal burn for wasted counters...I just don't like it.

Art: 3/5 The little happy faced counter or whatever the hell it is happens to be cute, but the actual picture isn't special.

To finish off the week we look at a Cloudian card….

Updraft
Normal Trap
Remove all Fog counters on the field. Inflict 300 life points of damage to your opponent times the number of Fog Counters removed.

Simple card that, unless you are really patient, is not going to do very much. At full Life, you would need 27 Fog counters on the field (both you and your opponent’s side combined) to beat your opponent. This could be a great card mid-late game, but in the early game this card is more or less worthless.

To put it simply, in a Cloudian deck you could potentially run one or two of these, but you will need a way to generate a LOT of Fog counters and FAST!

Until next week…..

Traditional: 1.5/5 (Cloudians, here?)
Advanced: 3/5 (Cloudian’s only)

General Zorpa Updraft

Meh, cloudian decks are pretty good if you want to go aggro, but this adds a new and important twist on cloudians. The burn twist. You can stall with cloudians very easily due to their not destroyed in battle effects. This makes it very easy for Wave Motion Cannon and Secret Barrel to get really high damage in. Ceasefire also comes to mind, but where does Updraft fit in? Well, most cloudians gain fog counters just for being summoned, and Cloudian Squall adds Fog Counters to all monster on the field during your standby phase. If you can get 5-6 counters on the field (which is not that hard) you deal 15-1800 damage. You can even play this card and Cloudian Squall in non cloudian decks, just splash them into stall burn and watch the counters fly.

Advanced-3/5
