ExMinion OfDarkness
Submarineroid

I've been seeing this card pop up in a few decks lately -- it's really not horrible.

You get an 800 ATKer that can attack directly, and after that shift itself into a comfortable 1800 DEF, forcing your opponent to get rid of it or take 800 per turn. It works well with Robbin' Goblin for sure, REALLY forcing them to waste a card on it or have their hand stripped by a card every turn, and is actually one of the main cards you should be using in a Roid deck, if you're crazy enough to try one.

Just try one out sometime, and see if it helps you.

Submarineroid

Oh, people had problems with this on the judge forum.
I can confirm that its effect changes damage to its original ATK to make sure Equip Spells can't help. It doesn't give you the amazing self-pumping behomoth of doom.

Self-pumping submarine? Hmmmm.

This has a reasonably DEF, but 800 direct damage isn't really worth the bother, as virtually any other monster can just run across this afterwards.

Tebezu
Submarineroid

This monster has some potential. Little Wing guard, Black Stego, and he hold a special ability of being capable of attacking and defending. With some 1800 defense and the ability to attack directly for 800, the sub sneak attack can add up if set up properly.

yet the only place I really think he will be played is the roid deck to be combined with supercharge, simply because of his defense.

His defensive stats will protect your other roids from smashing ground, his ability will annoy anyone who uses scapegoat to early, and limiter removal makes him a 1600:).

3/5

But no where near as good as Jetroid, that monster keeps an opponent guessing.

Submarineroid

A friend of mine, Kirk, used Submarineroid at the latest Regionals in Orlando and he did very well with it. He told me that his opponents willingly took up to 4 direct hits from Submarineroid before realizing he was even a threat; big mistake.

Submarineroid is a deceptive little monster that sets the opponent up for a quick-loss from your other Machines. Even taking 1 one hit from Submarineroid is a detriment to your health. Against a Machine deck, every Life Point counts and the more you take, the closer you are to getting a maniacal mass attack from your opponent’s Machines.

Funny thing about Machine decks is how they build up that “fear’ of a quick-kill. Submarineroid offers the Machine player a strategic way to do this. The ability to attack directly through a wall of face-down creatures is a plus for me. As aggressive as this format is Control decks often need to “turtle-up” to gain any kind of foothold on the game. Dekoichi is still a popular choice because he offers a nice “chump-block” and extra card draw to even out the loss in battle. Submarineroid ignores your opponent’s conservative stance and properly defends you by switching to defense with a monstrous 1800 DEF. Perfect “stealth-hitting” in my opinion.

Last Word: Submarineroid is my favorite stealth-hitter and fits right into a Machine deck or a ‘Roid’ deck to abuse Supercharge. Try it in your Machine deck; it won’t get Sak Armor’d until after the second hit I promise you. ^_^
