Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Doitsu

Once per turn during your main Phase, if you control this card on the field, you can equip it to your "Soitsu" as an Equip Card, or unequip the Union equipment and Special Summon this card in face-up Attack Position. While equipped to a monster by this card's effect, increase the ATK of the equipped monster by 2500 points. (1 monster can only be equipped with 1 Union monster at a time, if the equipped monster is destroyed as a result of battle, destroy this card instead.)

Type - Fairy/Union
Card Number - CRV-EN002

Card Ratings
Traditional: 1.08
Advanced: 1.66

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale 1 being the worst.
3 ... average. 5 is the highest rating.

Doitsu

Doitsu is a Union Monster, one who goes along with the ineffably crappy Soitsu. He has only 100 ATK and 200 DEF. He’s Level 4. Bad.

But then, you can equip him to Soitsu (even worse, 0 ATK and DEF), and Soitsu’s ATK will be raised to 2500. Is it worth it?

No, it’s not. Why waste two cards and two summons to get a 2500 ATK monster when you can just put Axe of Despair or United We Stand on a Slate Warrior or Spear Dragon or something and get something even stronger?

If equipping Soitsu with Doitsu gave Soitsu a piercing effect, like the infamous Aitsu/Koitsu Union, then maybe it’d be worthwhile (maybe). But as it stands, neither of these cards is worth running.

Union Deck: 2.5/5

ExMinion OfDarkness
Doitsu

This one's gonna be short and sweet, folks.

95% of unions suck. Doitsu/Soitsu doesn't fall into the other 5%, I assure you that.

If you manage to get one of them out and protect it, then get the other out, you're rewarded with...a 2500 ATKer? Gee, I can think of many better ways to get a 2500 ATK monster out. Uhh...ANY beatstick + Axe of Despair. Almost any monster PERIOD, with United We Stand and another monster at its side.

Okay, so if this dies in battle the union dies and not the monster as a whole. Great...so you're left with a 0 ATK monster stuck in ATK position. That, and a simple Smashing Ground or Fissure will take this out, giving your opponent a 2 for 1.

Keep this one in the bulk common bin.

1/5 all.

Coin Flip
It's pretty humorous that I missed a whole week and didn't even know it until the end of the week. Meh. I caught up, thanks to jonnyo posting my stuff late (world-class fellow, that man).

Doitsu... Ooh, look. A 0/0 that makes a 0/0 a 2500. Wait, I'm sensing something. Hmm, we get a crappy monster for two cards. Couldn't we do the same thing, only better, with a Berserk Gorilla and Axe of Despair?

GREAT SCOTT! This card sucks!

1/5 all formats, all TCGs, all decks ever.

Snapper Doitsu

Today's card is Doitsu, a monster that is nothing but a weaker and easier to use Koitsu.

As a Union Monster, Doitsu is not meant for battle. Because of this, we'll pass over its stats, because a 200 ATK Level 4 monster just isn't worth discussing. As a Union monster, it gets the usual Union Monster text, saying it can become an Equip Spell Card, if the equipped monster is destroyed in battle it's destroyed instead, and all that good stuff. What makes Doitsu "unique" is of course the monster it equips to, and of course the benefit it gives the equipped monster.

Doitsu's uniqueness allows it to be equipped to a Soitsu, and while equipped it gives Soitsu an extra 2500 ATK points. That's it. Nothing more. As has already been said, this is just a weaker Koitsu/Aitsu mix. But while it may be weaker, it IS easier to utilize, mainly due to their Levels. So because you don't need Tributes or a fancy way to summon them, I'd venture to say that D/S is better than K/A.

Overall, Doitsu is nothing spectacular, and it gives no great benefits to the monster it equips to. Because of this, Doitsu is limited to casual play, where it could be used in a K/A Deck, which might find uses with combinations of Creature Swaps, elemental searchers, Union Riders, and "itsu" monsters…

Advanced: 1/5. Rating it for an "itsu" Deck would be incredibly predictable… so… just use it there, and ignore this rating/comment/thing.
Traditional: 1/5. See Advanced.
Overall: 1/5.
Art: 2/5. Eh, gummy bears taste better than gummy men. And just look at it!
It's eating rice! What kind of artificial flavoring is that?

Dark Paladin
Today we look at Doitsu, who is a Union monster, and I've never really cared for them outside of an XYZ Dragon Cannon deck. Sure, equip it to Soitsu and it gains 2500 attack. Long story short, if you are playing the deck, play this, otherwise don't. Ideally, you wouldn't even play the deck.

1/5 all

Art: meh/5 = 2,9/5

Sorry to be short, but I mean, this week is just...*sighs*

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

Doitsu

(Fairy/Union/EARTH /4 Stars/100/200)

Once per turn, during your Main Phase, if you control this card on the field, you can equip it to your "Soitsu" as an Equip Card, OR unequip the Union equipment and Special Summon this card in face-up Attack Position. While equipped to a monster by this card's effect, increase the ATK of the equipped monster by 2500 points. (1 monster can only be equipped with 1 Union Monster at a time. If the equipped monster is destroyed as a result of battle, destroy this card instead.)

I have a personal favoritism for the Aitsu/Koitsu/Soitsu/Doitsu family because they are sooo much fun to use.

Today, we look a newer version of Koitsu, Doitsu. He has some of the worst bottom stats in the game (100/200), and that won’t stand up to much. But it’s his effect that makes up for his awful stats.

He is a Union monster, which really is an underlooked type of creature. The downside there is that he need another creature on the field to be effective (Soitsu). His effect is like Koitsu’s, but not as scary as he only increases the ATK by 2500 points and doesn’t apply the Fairy Meteor Crush like ability that his bigger brother does. Still, being able to make a 2500 3 Star monster is good against decks that like Gravity Bind and Level Limit - Area B.

But like I said, his bad stats and reliance on having another monster on the field outweigh his pretty cool ability. So, naturally, I can’t rate him very high.

Trad. Rating: 0.5/5 (No chance in hell at being any good)
Adv. Rating: 1.5/5 (Better possible chance here)
Draft Rating: 2.5/5 (That is unless you don’t get any Soitsu’s)
Artwork Rating: 5/5 (Just because his artwork makes me laugh)
