Today we have yet another old-school favorite. Way back in the LOB/Starter Deck days this guy wasn't bad at all. Once we started obtaining better options from newer sets, his playability drastically went down.

He can be brought into play via Giant Rat, which could prove useful at times. But besides some Gravity Bind based decks, he's not going to fit very well in anything else. I used to use him in the early versions of Clown Control over a year ago, worked quite well.

In Limited he's definitely better than the average Monster. 1300 ATK is considered pretty high and stable in Limited, add in the fact he's also got 2000 DEF, and he's a beast. Definitely an early pick in Draft. Irregardless what you do with him, Giant Soldier of Stone _will_ win you games in this format.

Upsides: 3 Stars with 1300 ATK (bindable), 2000 DEF, Sangan-able and Giant Rat-able

Down Sides: No Effect, 1300 ATK can’t stand up to much, 2000 DEF can’t stand up to much

This card was great back in the day. Can’t you remember back when we used to play Dark Energy and Despell? Those were definitely the days, weren’t they?

In Casual play, this card is something that brings back memories to me. I would play it in a fun deck if I decided to build one meant for fun only, and that’s about it.

In Tourney play.... well, I don’t think it sees any tourney play anymore (well not where I live anyways). I guess it could be a good addition to a clown control deck.

In Sealed, this card is great as your opponent’s will not have a lot of monsters able to crush it. Play it without a doubt.

Casual Rating: 2.7
Tourney Rating: 1.0
Sealed Rating: 3.0

Pros:
- 4 stars
- 2000 defense
- Decent attack

Cons:
- Monster removal owns this
- His attack isn't decent enough for competitive play
- He is just a boring card, no special effects...X/

There really isn't much to say about this giant soldier. He has 2000 defense, which is good. I guess he has a decent attack. You can get him with Giant Rat, and Sangan. His only real use would be in a gravity bind deck.

Basically my rating goes as follows...

Tourney play: 1.5/5 decent in only a few decks, and those decks aren't even playable...=/

Casual Play: 2.5/5 Um yea boring monster, not too fun to play.

Limited: 3.5/5 Good defense is good in limited, gives you the time to sac for that big mon that you pulled in the draft...and or packs.

Artwork: 2/5 Uh ok, so its a huge piece of rock, not that cool looking.
