Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME CENTRAL AMERICAN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER TO BE HELD IN MEXICO CITY

Players from Across Central America Are Expected to Make Their Way to Compete in the Main Event and Dragon Duel Championship Qualifiers

El Segundo, Calif. (June 10, 2015) – With great fanfare and an entire region’s worth of bragging rights on the line, the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) Central American World Championship Qualifier (WCQ) 2015 and Central American Dragon Duel World Championship Qualifier rolls into Mexico City June 19-21. Presented by Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI), the Central American World Championship Qualifiers are premier-level Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG competitive tournaments leading up to the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championships in Kyoto, Japan.  The Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG is a game made famous by the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga and animated TV series.

The first place finishers from the Central American WCQ and Central American Dragon Duel WCQ will be invited to the World Championships in Kyoto, Japan in August 2015. The winners from both WCQs will receive paid travel and accommodations, along with a host of other prizes listed below, and the title of “Central American Champion 2015”.

The Central American WCQ and Central American Dragon Duel WCQ are both an invitation-only event, but there is hope for those that haven’t yet qualified. On Friday, June 19, KONAMI will host a Last-Chance Qualifier for Duelists to earn an invite to the WCQ.  Only Duelists who do not already have an invite to the WCQ may participate in the Last Chance WCQ. The actual WCQ itself will begin on Saturday, June 20.

Pre-registration for the Central American WCQ and Central American Dragon Duel WCQ events will run from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19 and registration will continue promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, with Round One starting at 10:00 a.m. Every registered Duelist will receive a World Championship Qualifier Game Mat and a pack of World Championship Qualifier Card Sleeves.

Event Address:

Expo Reforma
Av. Morelos 67, Col. Juárez, 06600
México, D.F.
, Mexico

A full range of other Public Events such as 2016 Regional Qualifiers, Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Saber Force & Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Dark Legion Starter Deck, Structure Deck, 3 vs. 3 Team Dueling, Tag Team Dueling, Duelist League, ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!!, Win-A-Mat, Battle Pack, and Battle City Tournaments will be held through the weekend.

Additionally, a new Public Event that debuted earlier this year is the Beta Format Win-A-Mat. This Special Format Win-A-Mat will be a new challenge for Duelists, in which the number of Summons per turn is reduced. Duelists will use Advanced Format rules for Deck Construction and are allowed a maximum of three Summons per turn: one Normal Summon/Set, one Special Summon from the Extra Deck, and one "other" Special Summon. KONAMI has created two unique Win-A-Mats, one for each type of Win-A-Mat event.
