Unique Set Gathers 279 GX Era Cards

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (September 7, 2011) – Duelists will want to grab their buddies and head to the nearest store for a Yu-Gi-Oh! GX reunion when Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (Konami), the maker of the best-selling Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG), brings together the best and most memorable cards from 2005 through 2008 all in one place!  Players should save the date, October 4^th, to get their hands on Legendary Collection 2: The Duel Academy Years when it arrives on shelves nationwide.

The Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME Legendary Collection 2: The Duel Academy Years (MSRP $29.99) is in a class unto itself, gathering 279 of the most popular cards from the GX era. Each Legendary Collection 2: The Duel Academy Years contains 58 cards (including 28 foil cards) and is packaged in a reusable GX-themed three ring binder. This unique binder features three transparent card-sized display trays in the front cover, so Duelists can safely show off three of their favorite cards.

Duelists are sure to give high-marks to the astounding assortment of cards included in the Collection. Seven new GX Ultra Rare cards are included in each binder and cannot be found anywhere else!  Cyber Larva, Lion Alligator, Spawn Alligator, Elemental HERO Great Tornado, Parallel World Fusion, Dragonic Tactics and Court of Justice can power up all kinds of Decks, like Dragons, Fairies, Reptiles, and of course, Elemental HERO Decks!

The buzz will hit a fever pitch when Duelists learn that all three Scared Beast cards: Uria, Lord of the Searing Flames; Hamon, Lord of the Striking Thunder; and Raviel, Lord of the Phantasms get top billing as they are displayed in the front windows of the binder. Three fabled Darklord monsters, previously only available as championship-level prizes, are also included: Darklord Asmodeus, Darklord Superbia and Darklord Edeh Arae.

The coup de grâce of this storied set is the inclusion of five booster packs like nothing ever seen before: the Mega-Packs. The nine cards in each Mega-Pack are from a unique 266-card mega-set created specifically for Legendary Collection 2. This mega-set includes many of the most popular cards from the GX era, including Elemental HEROES, Destiny HEROES, Evil HEROES, Neo-Spacians, Crystal Beasts, and Cyber Dragons, plus top GX-era tournament cards, including Gladiator Beasts, Lightsworn, Six Samurai, and more.. Every pack has at least one card of every rarity from its set. That means that every Legendary Collection 2 Mega-Pack has one Secret Rare, one Ultra Rare, one Super Rare, one Rare, plus five common cards! That makes for 3 foil cards guaranteed per pack, with 5 packs in each Legendary Collection 2.
