GO for the GOLD!

The Hottest Game Around!

Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Continues to Fly Off Shelves!

First Quarter Releases Nearly Sold Out!

Carlsbad, CA (April 14, 2008) – Looking for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) on store shelves this spring? It’s so popular, you may have a hard time finding it! Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KDE) and Upper Deck Entertainment (UDE) announce that the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG releases of 2008 are almost sold out! Building off the huge success of Phantom Darkness, the first Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG booster set release of 2008, Upper Deck sold out of the Light of Destruction booster and the hobby-exclusive Gold Series even before these products reached retailer’s shelves! Visit www.yugioh-card.com for more information about all the great Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG products!

“The Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG continues to be a hugely popular game for boys,” said Yumi Hoashi, Vice-President of Card Business for Konami. “Konami and Upper Deck work closely together to develop superior set contents that keep Duelists interested in the game.”

“This is a great year for Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG, both in terms of set content and chase cards,” said Leighton Kurashima, Upper Deck’s Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG brand manager. “The Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME has always relied on engaging set content and game play. The great sales performance so far this year demonstrates that Konami and Upper Deck continue to deliver for both established Duelists and players who are new to the game.”

Phantom Darkness was released in February to great player acclaim, with reports coming in from across North America of huge increases in attendance at the January sneak preview. TCG fans everywhere love the amazing set content and increased opportunity to find Ultra Rare cards.

Weeks before its May 13 release date, Light of Destruction is already sold out! Light of Destruction brings a new twist to Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG, and Duelists can’t wait to see for themselves! This 100-card set introduces amazing Light cards, allowing Duelists to banish their opponent’s monsters from light-years away! Light of Destruction also includes the mysterious, long-in-demand “Arcana Force” cards from Season 2 of the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX animated TV series. Additionally, Light of Destruction boasts 10 world-premiere cards plus 10 cards previously only released in Japan, along with more Ultra Rares, Super Rares, and Rares than ever before.

Another product that sold out prior to its March release was the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Gold Series, a 45-card set featuring never-before-seen gold foil technology and legendary cards. The set contains reprints of 18 fan-favorite cards, including “Jinzo,” “Don Zaloog,” “Mirror Force” and “Crush Card Virus,” enhanced with the new gold foil card technology. Each 25-card pack boasts three gold technology cards. With unique cards and new high-end packaging, Gold Series is perfect for collectors and Duelists seeking to increase the rarity and prestige of their Decks.

Other Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG products have also outperformed expectations. The Dark Emperor Structure Deck hits shelves this month, and is already almost sold out. The March-released Duelist Pack Tin was also a huge Easter hit.

All Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG products are heavily supported by UDE’s Organized Play programs. These programs include Hobby League, Shonen Jump Championships, Regional Qualifiers and National Championships. All UDE-sanctioned tournaments award exclusive Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG product to participants and exciting prizes to top finishers in each tournament, which can include an invite to play in the 2008 Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championship Tournament. For more information on the UDE’s Organized Play programs, please log onto www.wannaduel.com.
