 Yugioh Tournament Reports

From: Danno
Subject: burn-n-stein indianapolis regionals 11-18-06

The Deck name is BURN-N-STEIN
The Event: UDE Regional Event Indianapolis IN 11-18-06
My name is Dan Burkhart
I think it was 177 people and 8 rounds of swiss to top 8

This is my 5th regional I have attended, and I am not one of the people
that is usually in the top 8. I run usually interesting and different
decks, but not cc or tier 1 usually.

The deck list is:

MONSTERS: 15
2 Mecha-Dog Marron
3 Des Koala
2 Lava Golem
3 Nimble Momonga
1 Penguin Soldier
2 Reflect Bounder
1 Spirit Reaper
1 Stone Statue of the Aztecs
SPELLS: 13
1 Book of Moon
1 Level Limit - Area B
3 Messenger of Peace
2|Sd6|Nightmare's Steelcage
2 Poison of the Old Man
1 Scapegoat
1 Swords of Revealing Light
2 Wave-Motion Cannon
TRAPS: 12
1 CeaseFire
1 Gravity Bind
1 Judgment of Anubis
1 Just Desserts
1 Kozaky's Self-Destruct Button
1 Magic Cylinder
1 Nightmare Wheel
2 Ojama Trio
1 Ring of Destruction
2 Secret Barrel
-SIDE DECK-
1 Torrential Tribute
1 Magician of Faith
1 Morphing Jar
1 Sangan
1 Emergency Provisions
1 Limiter Removal
1 Heavy Storm
2 Giant Trunade
3 Megamorph
3 Cyber-Stein

Essentially a lock-down burn that sides into Burn-n-Stein.

Round 1: Me vs. Paul Lambert

I got the lock first turn and it just went my way throughout. The look he
had when he finally got heavy and I chained judgment of anubis and
destroyed his zaborg for game was priceless.

The second game I went second. I drew the full stein, limiter, mega, heavy
gg.

Me: 1 win

Round 2: Me vs. Christian ? (forgot to write last name and other things)

I got the lock early and he never recovered, game 1 me.

He didn’t side for game 2 so I didn’t either. He managed to weenie rush me
and destroy most of my set monsters. Gave him lava golem and he bth’ed it.
Kid was on fire. Game 2 Christian.

Third game he didn’t side and after a long thought I didn’t either. I got
the lock early and he managed to weenie rush me to 1400 life points and
then he ringed his giant rat and I activated poison of the old man to stay
alive. I had no monsters on the field, but I had a wave-motion on 5
counters. He had 6200 life points I thought. My friend after the game told
me I lost this because I forgot to take off for the ring on his rat. I
didn’t make that mistake again. Game 3 Christian.

Me:1-1

Round 3: Me vs. Name withheld by request

He had 3 mobius main decked. I lost badly

I sided and Steined after burn to 2200.

He sided and I was worried, but didn’t side. I pulled stein after beating
to 2400.

Me:2-1

Round 4: Me vs. Tim Monfort

This whole match can be summed up in two words: Bad Draws. I lost.

Me:2-2

Round 5: Me vs. Cole Ramech

This whole match can be summed up in three words: He drew bad. I won.

Me:3-2

Round 6: Me vs. Jesse Gaze

He Owned me both games. gg… I lost.

Me:3-3

Round 7: Me vs. Anthony ? (forgot to write last name)

I got the lock early and he couldn’t counter.

He sided and so did I. He got me below 5000 and I couldn’t pull it. I hate
mobius.

Everytime I got the lock, mobius killed it and me. gg…

Me:3-4

Most people would have dropped as many already had, but I drove 110 miles
and I didn’t come to quit. I wish people would realize when you drop, you
affect the tie-breakers of everyone you played.

Round 8: Me vs. Ronald Harrell

Game 1 I couldn’t get the lock and I got killed.

Game 2 I sided and Stein FTK.

Game 3 I sided back and he lost to burn.

Me:4-4

My best is 6-2 and I didn’t top 8 because of tie-breakers… HINT HINT.

Props:

I never played any of my friends.
The people I did play were nice and friendly and all duels ended on a good
note.
I won a door prize of 3 packs of cyber dark impact… My first packs.
The judges were well organized and knew their stuff.
My friends and I had a great day dueling.

Slops:

I hate mobius and everything he stands for.
None of my friends making top 8.
The handicapped toilet being broken. (I didn’t mention I was in a
wheelchair did I?)

Thanks to all the event coordinators for giving an old man a fun past time
and hobby. I’ll be at the next regional and look forward to another fun
day.
