MiNdLiBeRaToR's Terrible Tomatoes' Report- Comic Kings - Bo Jangles

Tournament Report by Joshua Everard

Today I m going to present to you my deck and my tournament report, and a little rant.

NOTICE: Unusually large tourny report!

First: the rant!

Magician of Faith is so broken, I just can't believe it. October 1st, MoF needs to be restricted to 1. Re-usable trinity, no change of heart, it is too much. Also, delinquent should NEVER have been taken off the ban list and .personally, I despise it, but it pretty much has to be run.

Now my deck:

Monsters: 17

Dark Magician of Chaos

Jinzo

Mystic Tomato x3

Newdoria x2

Don Zaloog x2

Spirit Reaper x2

Tribe-Infecting Virus

Sinister Serpent

Sangan

DD Warrior Lady

Breaker the Magical Warrior

Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer

Spells: 19

Pot of Greed

Delinquent Duo

Graceful Charity

Smashing Ground x2

Heavy Storm

Scapegoat x2

Lightning Vortex

Book of Moon x2

Nobleman of Crossout x2

MST

Snatch Steal

Swords of Revealing Light

Messenger of Peace x2

Premature Burial

Traps: 4

Call of the Haunted

Mirror Force

Torrential Tribute

Ring of Destruction

The Tourny Report:

Before the tournament, I met up with my teammate and friend Kevin and he gave me 2 messengers of peace, and I swapped them in with the proxies that I had. I play against his whack chaos and 2-2 with him (we were playing until the pairings were announced).

Basically, when he didn t draw pot + grace or pot + delinquent, I won. When he did, I couldn t gain a substantial amount of hand advantage.

Comic Kings

First: 12 packs

Second: 6 packs

Third: 3 packs

Entry Fee: $5, 1 pack for entering

36-40 entrants

Single Elimination

Round One:

Josh VS Vegeta

Brief:

Alright, I ll say it, and say it up front: this guy is just plain WEIRD. He wears all black and a bunch of chains coming down his biker s jacket and smells kind of funny. He runs a whack skill drain deck. He makes skill drain decks look bad

Game One:

First game, I commanded the lead with a delinquent and a set torrential. He summons a giant orc, I torrential, and he ends his turn. I draw, summon sangan in attack mode and smack him around for 1000, making the LP even. I set ring and end. He draws, summons mad dog of darkness, and I ring it for 1900 each. He sets 3 m/t and ends. I draw, play graceful charity, discarding mystic tomato and dmoc. I play heavy storm and he chains nothing, as his book of moon, skill drain, and torrential go to the grave. I summon don zaloog, attack for 2400 and end my turn. He draws, sets 1 m/t and ends. I draw, activate call of the haunted, get dmoc back, getting graceful back. I then activate graceful, draw 3, and discard sinister and newdoria. I then attack directly with don, he activates sakuretsu armor, then I attack with sangan for another 1/8 of his LP. I end, he draws, then ends. I draw, sac sangan for jinzo, attack for 2400, then end. He exiled forces jinzo, then ends. I draw, summon tomato and attack for game.

LP-

Me: 8000>7000>5100

Him: 8000>7000>5100>3700>1300>0

Game Two:

I don t remember much about this one. I only remembered a lot from the previous one because it wasn t so boring. This one dragged on with him stalling with wall of revealing light, and many other annoying things like that. He eventually one, but I remember it was because he heavy stormed, snatched one of my monsters, summoned giant orc, flipped mad dog of darkness, and attacked for game. I also remember solemn wishes. Lol.

LP-

Me: 8000>6500>5500>4700>2500>0

Him:8000>5000>4000>2500>3000>3500>4000>4500>5000>5500>6000>6500>4900>2500>4000>

Game Three:

I finally sided in all my burn stuff. Never actually got any of it, but bleh. Early heavy and delinquent led the way to victory.

LP-

Me: 8000>7000

Him: 8000>8500>5500>1100>0

Round Two:

Josh VS Kevin

Brief:

Kevin is a close friend of mine, and basically, I created his deck. He will deny it at all times when asked, but he knows I did. I know each and every single card in his deck, and can recite it by memory. He is the reason I bought two kinetic soldiers for the side deck (BTW they were $4 a piece, which is REALLY good).

Game One:

I open up with a bunch of turn two stuff (smashing, crossout, heavy, newdoria, etc), so I just end. He takes me for a loop with blade twice, but I gain hand and field control, and open up late game for a big hit.

LP-

Me: 8000>6000>4000>3600>1600

Him: 8000>6800>4800>3600>0

Game Two:

Yay, I got to use the kinetics! However, I really got caught up in this one, when he pot of greeds twice and gracefuls once. Ouch, that hurts. I lost his one, but I took some chunks out of him. He did get bls on me at the end.

LP-

Me: 8000>6300>5300>5200>5100>6100>4100>0

Him: 8000>7800>7500>4550>5550>3550

Game Three:

Ya, not too strong without those MoF s, huh, Kevin? Lol, no damage taken by me, and I have to describe something awesome that I did. I set a kinetic, he attacked with a 1600 blade knight, and I did 2200 to him first turn. We were laughing for like 5 mins because he couldn t believe he just got had by a kinetic. Go me!

LP-

Me: 8000

Him: 8000>5800>4050>3850>1950>0

Round 3:

Josh VS Pete

Brief:

Oddly enough, he has a chaos beatdown deck, without Bls, and instead a chaos sorceror (later he got ripped by trading his entire binder of some pretty good holos for a black luster). He knows how lucky he is.

Game One:

This first game, I was doing pretty horribly. All monster hand, ewwww. He uses some beatsticks to whittle me down as I helplessly take the damage.

LP-

Me: 8000>5600>5400>5100>5000>4900>1700>1100>900>0

Him: 8000>7700>5900>6900>7900

Game Two:

Wow, I guess I ve been forgetting to tell you, but after every first match, I ve had to side out the messengers of peace. They just, for some reason, are not working for me. This game I controlled his hand with don and he just kept taking attack after attack.

LP-

Me: 8000>6000>4000>3400>2600

Him: 8000>7000>6200>4600>2000>0

Game Three:

Same as game two, but he stalled a lot more with reapers, goats, and we almost had to end for time. Luckily, I won. I was bored during this one, so I didn t take any useful mental notes.

LP-

Me: 8000>7600>6800>5000>4200>3200>2200>900

Him: 8000>9000>7200>6400>4800>3200>1700>0

Round 4:

Josh VS Jimmy

Brief:

Jimmy was on my team (which to this day remains unnamed), but after him acting like a jerk and really not contributing (which includes quitting the game about 4 times), I told him either he quits or I would kick him off. He chose to quit, and so it was. We re okay friends, I just don t talk to him a lot. He runs a weird archfiend deck.

Game One:

All I took was the price of a delinquent and overflow from a terrorking to a don. Other than that, I had him at the ropes with dons and smashing grounds. Also, Jinzo smacks him at the beginning.

LP-

Me: 8000>7000>6400

Him: 8000>5600>1800>1400>0

Game Two:

Game One repeated, without the delinquent and a little more struggle on my part because of a skull archfiend. Other than that, another win for me. Woohoo!

LP-

Me: 8000>7200>6500>6200>6100

Him: 8000>5000>4200>3800>3500>1100>0

Round 5:

Josh VS Mr. Martinez

SEMIS

Mr. Martinez is a very good player, and, although he top decked pot of greed twice during these two games, used pot of greed in the second game twice, I still respect him a lot. He runs the normal warrior chaos, and I forgot to side deck in the kinetics, but I guess they wouldn t have mattered as much as I would have wished they could have.

Game One:

With me delinquenting and attacking him with sangan, he rang my dmoc, and then I rang his breaker, and then he started to put the hurt on me. I sat their quietly as he overflows my don, I smash his blade knight and set a goat, he mst s on endphase, then summons another blade knight for game.

LP-

Me: 8000>7000>4200>2600>2000>0

Him: 8000>7000>4200>2600

Game Two:

This is the game where I got peeved off about MoF, but kept quiet about it because everything he did was legal, and I really didn t have any counters for him. He used PoG twice and graceful once, I believe. It was a good game.

LP-

Me: 8000>5300>3700>1700>0

Him: 8000>7200>6300

Here at Comic Kings, there are three brackets: Adult, Teens, and Kids. I was in the Teens bracket and won it. The winner of the adult bracket and the winner of the teens bracket plays in semis, while the winner of the kids bracket gets a bye to the finals. Because Mr. Martinez s son won the kids bracket, he scooped to his son (Andy), so that he could take first. I took second and pulled nothing out of my packs.

After the tournament, I changed my deck quite a bit.

I took out:

Mystic tomato

Messenger of Peace x2

Newdoria x2

Spirit Reaper

I put in:

Reinforcement x2

Exiled Force

Zombyra the Dark

Metamorphosis x2

Props:

Third Place

Having Kevin like my deck enough to want to copy it (it made me feel special, lol)

DMoC being the beast that it is

Mystic Tomato for being one of the most underrated cards IMO

Slops:

BLS being still around

MoF for being so broken

Getting nothing good in the 3 packs I got

Messenger of peace for not working

Thanks for reading and I hope that you had as good of a time as I did this Saturday.

E-mail me at mindliberator91@yahoo.com, but please, don t send any e-mails about how bad I am or anything of that sort. Lol, it would make me feel bad, and you don t want to make me feel bad, right?
