Deck Name: Ha Des' Dark Army Name: Alex Davis Tournament Location: The Fine Art of Baseball (Entry Fee: $10 even, with Duelist benefits, like trading with the store owner and his single cards in the store, and discounts on packs/boxes/tins, etc.) City and State: Columbia, SC Date: March 12, 2005 # of Duelists: 8 It was quite a small tourney today, 3 guys who usually play couldn't today, they had to leave before the tourney for something. But we still had good people today. I made a trade before the tourney: My: Fiber Jar, Divine Wrath (SR, 1st ED), Total Defense Shogun, Luster Dragon, and another SR which I can't remember. His: Gravity Bind (PSV), The Shallow Grave(PSV), Karbonala Warrior, Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon, Double Spell. I know I was getting ripped, but truthfully, I didn't need Fiber (Ban list, and I just plain don't like him, nor play him anyway), Divine Wrath is highly overrated and only hurt me and clogged the field when I played it, Shogun wasn't quite helping me, I didn't use Luster at all, and I can't remember the other one. I wanted some more monsters for my Fusions, and more cards for a Deck Destruction deck I'm making too, so thats what those first two are for, then the last is because I've always liked and wanted to play it ^_^. He's somewhat of a collector that only plays to have fun, but he kicks serious butt in doing so. Duel #1: Well, I did pretty well in this one. He started by summoning Guardian of The Throne Room and setting two cards. I set Newdoria, but he used Compulsory Evac Device to send it back. I set Dust Tornado. He gets a hit with GotTR. I somehow get around that and play Giant Orc, hitting a set Nimble Momonga a few turns later. I set Deck Devastation Virus after the attack. He plays another Guardian, I Ring it, then use DDV on Orc, taking out his 2 set NM's, and I think 2 or 3 of his other cards in his hand, 1 being Cyber Jar. Later in the duel, I got out Thousand Eyes Restrict by sacing a Kuriboh. I just take control for a few turns from there, taking his Jinzo, Breaker, two F/D's, and destroying a few of his Scapegoat tokens. I made the mistake of summoning Ha Des, because he TT'd the field, ending my Running Riot. I got in a hit with Newdoria. I played Creature Swap with one of his monsters and traded my Mystic Tomato. I attacked it and got out ShadowSlayer when he still had a few Goat tokens left and did 1400. His last stand consisted of a Mechanical Chaser, which I CoH'd to win the duel. WIN. Me: 8000-6350-4650-4200-4000-3800 Andrew: 8000-6300-7300-5650-4850-3650-2250-1150-850-0 Duel #2: I don't remember much of this duel, it consisted of much the same though. His machines that I named above, plus my usual line-up, TER, stuff like that. Time Limit killed me though, I drew Premature Burial with 750 LP's left >_<. LOSS. Me: 8000-7250-6050-2450-750-TIME Andrew: 8000-7750-6350-5650 Duel #3: This was one of the best and funniest duels I've had in a long time. Basically, the major things that happened were: on my first turn I attacked his set Cyber Jar. I used Card Destruction cause he got BLS in his hand from CJ. I Set MY Cyber Jar. He attacks it. He then uses MST on my set CoTH, I activate it, select CJ, then use Book of Moon on him to set him on the field. He gets it with Change of Heart, flips it, then gets out a monster. He STILL hasn't summoned yet, so he gets out Blowback Dragon. Two Limiter Removals and 9200 damage later, I'm dead. It only took about two minutes to Flip Cyber Jar 3 times. He only had less than half of his deck left. But he killed me pretty handily. If only I hadn't Card Destructioned my only two Fuzzballs >_<, it would've probably ended up with me the winner. But as it was, that was the funnest duel I've had in a long time, and I don't mind losing at all when it's in a manner like that. He is a great duelist and got 2nd today. LOSS. Me: 8000-6300-0 Andrew: 8000-6300 Well, no prob. I got a Magical Thorn Super Rare in my TP5 pack, so that kicked butt. Pro's: + Got that trade for Double Spell, a card I've wanted for a long time. + Got a Super Rare in a TP5 pack! Con's: - Losing in the first round, but I didn't really mind, other than actually losing, no one really enjoys that... - Only getting 3 Rares in 3 IOC packs that I bought, two of the same one even...
