Welcome to another thrilling installation of the tournament report!
 
I only made a small change to the deck since last week. I tried out a couple of Smashing Ground. So there. Not much else to say about it. Two more weeks and the new ban list kicks in and bye-bye Change of Heart and Painful Choice. Hooray!
 
Some folks have been dissin' my Reckless Greed but it has NEVER hurt me and only helped me. Try it. You may like it.

ROUND 1
MONARCHS VS SOME PUNK WHO THOUGHT HE WAS ALL THAT AND A BAG OF CHIPS
 
This kid comes up with miss matched sleeves and a deck about the size of a half eaten loaf of bread. LoL. I tried to be as professional as possible, but he didn't even want to roll to see who got to go first, he insisted on letting me go first. I'm like, "OK Lil' dude, whatever." He kept playing traps from his hand and other noob things.
 
GAME 1
 
After I cut his deck, he drew his opening hand and mumbled about how it was so great and said, "You shouldn't have cut into that." He showed his hand to the person next to him and they pretty much ignored him because they know who I was and my deck.
 
I killed him with only one monster. I had a Berserk Gorilla on the field from turn one and didn't bother summoning anything else.
I NOC the first monster he set, a Neo the Magic Swordsman. After he played Card Destruction, I Ringed the Kazajin (?) which he had Premature Burialed and dominated.
 
GAME 2
 
This is too funny. After he paid for Ultimate Offering, he got a Summoned Skull with an Axe of Despair out on his second turn. I Morph a Scapegoat token to TER on my turn and take his 3500 attack Summoned Skull and promptly thrashed him with it. LoL!!
 
Ha...I'm still chuckling over that one. He was talking smack and saying how he usually got to the third round and why did he have to face me. Oh yeah. I think I've seen that kid there like, once maybe.
 
ROUND 2
MONARCHS VS SPELLCASTER
 
GAME 1
Ok, is this my morning to face all the noobs? No problem. Zaborg and a Nimble Momanga take care of him. Go NIMBLE! When I Ring my Zaborg on my third turn it's 8000LP to 0.
 
GAME 2
 
He pretty much manages to stall for a while but, after I attack his Cyber Jar I get everything I need to totally wipe him out. 9100 - 0.
 
ROUND 3
MONARCHS VS CHAOS MORPH
 
Grrr. Taka-shi's deck again......
 
GAME 1
 
I figured I would lose this one and I did. Not as badly as I thought I would though. I was loosing 300 to 5500 and managed to get a grip on the duel and start to turn things around. He Creature Swaped and tributed for Jinzo twice in a row! I had used Smashing Ground on it the first time and he used Monster Reincarnation on it. I managed to get rid of it again by tributing for Zaborg. I had him the next turn, but he paid 2000 for Dimension Fusion and got himself down to 100LP and all he had to do was attack my Zaborg with his DMoC and that's what he did. Boo.
 
I side deck a lot.
 
GAME 2
 
Bottomless Trap Hole and Royal Oppression come through for me. I do get really lucky though, and seem to pull every card I needed at the right time. In the end, my Sinister Serpent finished him off! He had exactly 300LP left when I attacked his face down Serpent with a Mobius and then attacked directly for the 300LP damage! WooT! Go SINISTER!
 
GAME 3
 
I side deck one more time. He side decks in 10.
 
He goes first and I get Zaborg, Gorilla, Change of Heart, Heavy Storm, Magic Drain. He plays Painful Choice and sort of throws me off because he puts a Book of Moon in there. I haven't seen him use Book of Moon before. I gave him Jinzo. He sets 1 S/T.
 
I summon a Gorilla and attack. He activates Waboku. I set the Magic Drain.
 
He plays Heavy Storm. Of course. Magic Drain seems to never work well for me and I always draw it early game! It sucks then!
 
CHANGE OF HEART!!! GRRRR! I am so sick of this card now. He tributes my Gorilla for Jinzo, Premature Burial's his Airknight and attacks with both. CRAP! Then he plays Card Destruction.
 
I get Pot in the Card Destruction and get some stuff. I MST his Premature Burial and he Book of Moon's his Airknight. I Premature Burial my Zaborg and attack his Airknight. I set Royal Oppression and Call of the Haunted, because that's about all I can do. I set the Morphing Jar.
 
He NoC's my Jar and suicides his Jinzo with my Zaborg. Blegh.
 
I Call Zaborg back, summon a Gorilla and activate Royal Oppression. I attack him. He keeps using Giant Trunade on my Call and Royal Oppression but it only slows me up a little. I just keep re-using the Call of the Haunted and re-activating the Royal Oppression and attack him with Zaborg and the Gorilla a couple of times and that's all she wrote.
 
SEMI-FINALS
MONARCHS VS WARRIOR/BEATDOWN THING
 
GAME 1
 
Wow. An UBER-Close game!! I get a bad opening hand of Sinister, Scapegoat, Metamorphosis, Heavy Storm and Call of the Haunted. He manages to whack me with Injection after Marauding hit my Sinister.
 
I use Smashing Ground on his Lily and attack his Captain with a Gorilla.
 
After he flips his Cyber Jar, I get a Morphing Jar and he gets Breaker, Exiled Force and a Gorilla. I Bottomless the Gorilla and the Breaker but he Exiled's my Morphing Jar.
 
After he hits my Fiber Jar, I hope I can get something good for some major damage but I don't really. I'm losing 3100 - 3800 when I ring his DD, but he summons a Gorilla and Rings it and I lose. Awww...That sucked. Close game. I hate losing to Ring.
 
GAME 2
 
I don't side deck anything. Maybe I should have, but I didn't.
 
I get crap again. Swords keeps me alive. I don't draw a monster for a while. I got Zaborg on the field but he kept using Enemy Controller on it. Fortunately, he didn't have any monsters to take it out with. He feebly tried to stall with Tribe, he discarded his hand to get rid of Zaborg and TER, but I had a Call of the Haunted set and he had nothing to protect himself.
 
GAME 3
 
Another SUPER close game! We go back and forth again until CHANGE OF HEART!!! I was winning 2300 - 2100 when he takes my Gorilla and tributes it for Jinzo. The End.
 
CHANGE OF HEART kills me again. I'm glad it's going to be banned! Hooray!
 
Well, that's it for this week. The Monarchs made it to the Top 4 so, that's good. I would really like to finish a tournament in the number one slot again. It's been a while. Maybe tomorrow!
