I reworked this deck the night before the Regional tourney (my 1st Regionals) because I found some serious flaws after recieving a pasting from a Chaos Deck and a Dragon Deck. After the tournament I still found some flaws from my deck, but it was a huge improvment from the deck I tested the day before the tournament. Lucky thing I tested it before bringing my deck to the regionals, otherwise I would have finished somewhere down the bottom.

Well I arrived at Mitcham Station at 9:50am, just in time, but they haven't even opened the doors yet! Registration took over an 1.5hrs organisers were very slow, and people were still coming in at 11am, an hour later than when it was suppose to start! Anyway things finally got started at about 11:45am.

ROUND 1
vs John Nguyen (young kid)
This kid has potential, exept he thinks he can get Tribe infecting Virus, Mystic Swordsman, The Creator and some other powerful cards out at the same time to win. Turns out he only managed 1 win for the entire tourney against a 1st timer at any tournament of any kind.

1st Duel - Win
- I opened with a Beserk Gorilla, but he managed to Snatch Steal it to inflict 1st blood.
- I then used Heavy storm to get it back
- A few moves later a managed to get my Horus LV8 out and take a chunk out of his LP, but then he summoned tribe infecting virus to get rid of it,
- then i Call of the Haunted my Horus LV6 and beat his LP down to 0

2nd Duel - win
- Pretty much beat his LP down
- He managed to gain the advantage when he got his Mystic Swordsman out (well he thought he did).
- now at this time i had a call of the Huanted and a Staunch Defender set, a 1 fire monster out and my Ultimate Baseball Kid out. He declared an atk then i call of the haunted back another fire monster out, which raised the Baseball Kid's ATK to 2500.
- Still in his battle phase he atk the same monster he declared. i activated staunch defender and targeted my Baseball Kid. He was quite suprised at that.
- in the end he summoned his Injection Fairy Lily out and then realised he was only on 1650LP and he goes "oh wait... i dont have enough life points!". LOL
- I snatched it, payed 2000 of my 8000LP and beat him with his own monster.

1-0

ROUND 2 -loss
vs Dion
can't remember what type of deck he ran but i lost to him coz he had total field control

1st Duel - win
- somehow i managed to beat down his LP down enough to use my wave motion cannon to burn away 4000LP

2nd Duel - loss
- it all went pretty pear shaped from here. I don't remember much but he had total field control and i couldn't do anything

3rd Duel - loss
- I hoped with all my might that I'll draw some good cards to win the duel. Lady luck had other ideas.
- the only time i touched his LP is when I CoH one of his 2400ATK monster and summoned Luster Dragon to at least take away half his life points.
_ He Snatched my Luster Dragon and I was gone.

1-1

ROUND 3 -win
vs a girl in her early 20's? seems like she borrowed some cards off her friend who also entered the tournament. Her deck was predominantly a water deck.

1st Duel - win
- she was easily accounted for. She was Horus'd (LV8) the hell out of that duel.

2nd Duel - win
- Now this time the match just kept on swinging. Swinging more times than you'll see people swinging at a swingers club.
- I had a horus LV6, she summoned a Sinister Serpent and then activated Creature Swap. She obviously didn't realise Horus's effect. So in the end I got a Sinister for free!
- she was on 2300 and I was on 1800. I burned 2000LP with Wave Motion and attacked for the win.

2-1

Round 4 -loss
vs Biondi. He has a Chaos deck. This is the guy I mentioned above. After recieving a good creaming from him, I realised the huge flaws in my deck (ie way too many traps, 17 to be exact).

1st Duel - loss
- 2 words... Completely owned.
- after that duel i side decked to put in my Rush Recklessly, and Bottomless Traphole(about time too for this card and it turns out that I left it in there for the rest of the tournament).

2nd Duel - loss
- Match kept on swinging quite a bit. However I was 2 turns away from my much needed Rush Recklessly.
- At this point he was on 300LP I summoned Raging Flame Sprite to burn away 100LP, and then he just beat me from there.

2-2

Round 5 -win
vs some kid with one of those "no particular theme" deck. Already with 2 losses, I had to win every match to get a chance to qualify for the nationals. Yes I know, a bit optimistic to think I could qualify with an untested and unproven deck.

1st Duel - loss
- he obviously drew a very good hand. He had 4 set M/T cards and activated a SoRL and summoned a Luster Dragon.
- My only chance was to Level Up! my Horus LV4. but what do you know, he had a Magic Jammer.
- I couldn't draw anything fast enough to save myself

2nd Duel - win
- he didnt draw anything good, and I just used an old fashion beatdown

3rd Duel - win
- He just couldnt get out any monsters, so with my Horus LV6 and Beserk Gorilla I beatdown a big chunk of his LP
- He set down a Cyber Jar. How do I know? Do I have the Millenium Eye? well of course not, I would have had 4wins instead of 2. I just creature swapped and selected my horus LV6 for the swap, which of course means I don't have to swap him. So I got the dangerously annoying Cyber Jar for free teehee.
- I attacked with my Horus and Beserk Gorilla bringing his LP down to 1400LP
- He Called of the Haunted his Penguin Soldier back but didn't attack his Cyber Jar for some reason. Btw I had a Sakuretsu Armor and an Interdimensional Matter Transporter set.
- I drew Snatch Steal and stole his penguin soldier and attacked directly for the win.

3-2

Round 6 -loss
vs Andrew, Horus Deck. Now I knew I was in trouble coz this guy owns every single card (including the various rarities of the same card) from all booster packs before FET, exept for 3 cards!

1st Duel - loss
- I made a costly tactical error, which cost me the duel

2nd Duel - loss
- I dont remember much but he always had a Horus LV6 out

3-3

ROUND 7 -loss
vs a light trample deck. This guy was a bit unfortunate in his duels. Btw this guy used to own a card shop

1st Duel - loss
- He just trampled his way to a win with his Luminous Sparks Field card

2nd Duel - loss
- He just had an answer for everything I trew at him!
- He Waboku'd me 3 times in a row. Book of Moon'd my monsters at crucial moments and just trampled across my weak defence monsters to really hurt my LPs. In the end I was on 1900LP and he was on 7650LP
- Heres the play that would have won me the match if it actually worked perfectly.
- He had 5 monsters on the field, The Creator, 2 1900ATK trample monsters (shows how little I know about the game), and a 1600ATK monster.
- I Called of the Haunted my Baseball Kid, Prematured my Raging Flame Sprite, already had DNA Transplant set and a Wave-Motion Cannon with 4 counters on it (A Ceasefire would have been nice, too bad it was in my side deck), and a Rush Recklessly in my Hand
- I activated DNA Transplant turning all monsters into fire monsters raising my Baseball Kid's ATK to 5500.
- I attacked his 1600ATK monster, thinking that I won if he doesn't have anything to counter it. Unfortunately for me, he activated his set Book of Moon on my Baseball Kid. Then that was it for me.
- He used The Creators effect to get 5 monsters on his field and trampled across my monsters.

3-4

Well I ended up 24th out of 44 duelists. Got a sticker, a badge, poster, FET booster, and a Necrovalley field spell card. To my suprise I pulled out an ultimate rare Spiral Spear Strike. Made plenty of trades to make my fire deck look more like a fire deck (Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch and a UFO turtle and various other cards), and I realised that not once did I draw out my sasuke samurai throughout the entire tournament.

Props
- Getting an ultimate rare Spiral Spear Strike
- Getting some good trades
- Knowing that my deck in its developmental stage has alot of potential

Slops
- Finishing in the lowest rank in any tournament I've entered. Although the skill level here is higher than the other traditional format tournaments.
- For the organisers to take so long with registration.
