I want to start this off by saying that this isn't my normal deck, meaning I never have played this before. There was a time before this deck that I was original. I still am original. The reason I used this deck at the tournament is for the simple reason that orignality, while good for the soul and for the game, it sometimes just doesn't get the job done. This place is literally a marathon of CC decks left and right with the exception of the kids 14 and under division. So therefore I had to constuct this to at least keep up the spirit of playing. It seems very low for me to do so seeing how I have been playing since the beginning. I have never won a tournament before either... although that makes me sad, I still do the best I can with what skills I have. By a level rating, I am a 2 according to DeathJester's M.I.M.E. player development. I don't know if it is just my amazing luck, but everytime I have been plaing there for the past 2 months, I always ALWAYS get paired up with the person who always ALWAYS wins the tournament first round. I love a challenge, but I would like to be able to play further than the first round. Well my luck finally changed and I played a kid last Tuesday and I was a little satisfied. Soon I found out the kid I was playing was the tournament winners son, who is 9 years old and knows everything his dad basically knows about the game. Hmph. Well, with deck in hand, I got ready to play...

Match 1: Me vs. Jacob Burkholder, age 9

ROUND 1: He gets to go first. He tossed a Thunder Dragon to get his others, filling his hand and thinning his deck. He sets 2 spell/traps and ends his turn with no monster on the field. I draw and summoned Breaker to at least kill 1 s/t. He Ring'd it. I ended. He summoned Yata and attacked. grrrrr. During my turn I played Berserk and swung for a mighty 2000. During his turn, he played Graceful Charity... Snatch'd my Gorilla, Special Summoned BLS, and for the next 2 rounds killed me. GAME-lost

ROUND 2: I chose to go first and played Reinforcements of the Army to pull out a DDWL. I didn't write much down because it all went so fast, but I basically Change of Heart'd his Shining Angel and summoned more monsters and just attacked him with all. GAME-WON

Round 3: I love 3rd rounds, they make things more exciting for me. He side-decked, so I joined in and side-decked some of my own. I figured he was going to pull something Zombie-ish from there so I stocked up on my End of Anubis, and Kinetic Soldiers. He goes first and set face down defense monster and ends turn. I draw and summon Marauding Captain and Command Knight. I attacked... only to hit a Spirit Reaper. Damn. I end. Then the wonderful magic that is the ban-list struck me with a fury of a Raigeki and a Yata-lock. I haven't had one of those for a REALLY long time. I didn't confess defeat because he Snatch'd one of my monsters and I kept gaining little by little back, so I made him repeat the process. My deck was good and performed very well. But the ban-list continues to be a thorn in my side.

I got a pack for losing, pulled nothing great, and stayed to play others who were just there or have lost along with me. All in all, I didn't waste my 5 dollars to enter, but as far as the tournament went... I really need to get a break and get out of this 4-year slump! I need help!!!
