Zombie Beatdown Paul Reinhardt TBS Comics Pensacola, Florida 2/12/15 6 people, 4 packs to first, 2 to second Sorry about the late report, I didn't even think of it with all the drama going on with my friends (which ended up in one living at my house). We were like "hey theres a tourney today" and hes like "sweet!" so we officially had 6. There would usually be at least 2 more, but whatever. Round 1 vs. Cameron Newbish kid, nothing really to say. Used a mat and everything. Kept setting a whole S/T field and like 1 monster every other turn. Round 2 vs. New guy Forgot his name, basically ran a beatdown deck. Match 1 Painful in hand lead to the usual Jinzo, Sinister Serpent, and 3 Zombies in the grave. Set Pyramid Turtle, passed turn. He summoned GAF and passed (probably figured I had MoF or soemthing). My turn I drew a second Book of Life, Forcefulled something (probably Change of Heart or something like that) and he had a hand full o' beatdown. Tributed for Ryu Kokki, smacked his GAF, set a Book and ended turn. His turn he Heavy Stormed, prematured, and tributed for Jinzo. My turn I Booked a V-lord, Changed his Jinzo, did 6800 and called trap, to which he picked Call of the Haunted. Set Ring just in case. His turn he passed (?). My turn I Hammer Shotified Jinzo and attacked. He kept drawing spells. Match 2 Rather fuzzy, but I remember I got Painful turn 3 or so. He kept playing stuff in attack that I just hit (like Berserk when I had Ryu Kokki out). Eventually however, he ringed my only monster, summoned GAF, and attacked. My turn I played Turtle facedown and passed. He tributed for Jinzo and hit Turtle, I got out my last Ryu Kokki (which I thought I might've Painfulled, but luckily I left one like I should've). My turn I played Reaper, Creature Swapped for Jinzo, and attacked for the win. Round 3 vs. Eric We called it a tie and were the top 2, thus went on to the finals by default. This is messed up, because if you lose to anyone but the guy that goes undefeated, you're out of the finals. This is onyl because there's 6 people, but still Finals vs. Eric We split the prize because neither of us likes getting packs we can't weigh beforehand. I weighed my 3 RDS packs, and one was more. Opened it and pulled Pikeru, not bad. Sold one of the others for $3 and opened the other one for the hell of it (ultimates weigh less, plus RDS isn't completely accurate because its printed on crappier cardboard) and pulled a Machine Duplication. Kept the commons, bascially threw the Machine Duplication somewhere, screw getting mass rares. Props: -Finally getting into the finals -Eric yet again beating my brother with a Horus Control deck, to which my bro did his weekly whine session about how Horus is stupid (which it is, but still its beatable). -Getting my entry fee back and getting Pikeru -Getting better at Halo 2 later at Home Field -Home Field for having Eternal Witness for $5 apiece (low price) and Jitte for $5 apiece (yet again low) Slops: -Not pulling an ultimate in my packs -The usual 3-4 others for not showing up this week -Not being able to go to the Regionals because my friends car was leaking oil. Kinda dont wanna drive an hour and stay there til the next day (all-nighter that night) with leaking oil. We were all ready too... food, completed decks (besides fusions), deals made with people in Mobile, extra money, etc etc. Paul Reinhardt, Jek on the chat, Viper2 on the boards Paulwayner2@aol.com
