It's post morning tournament and pre afternoon. Before the morning, seeing as the new stucture sets came out, I traded a Great Dezard for a common Heavy Storm and Creature Swap. I got ripped off, but I needed the two, plus Great Dezard is useless. Anyway, I got 2nd in the morning, got a pack of IOC, got nothing, and I got to roll an 8-sided die to see which random super/ulta rare I get. I rolled 6 and got a Call of the Haunted from Dark Beginnings. Eh. I decided to stick waboku into my deck because it's good. lol. I was debating on entering the afternoon, because I figured if Travis was coming, it'd be a waste of 5$. I've faced him 3 times in the past and lost all 3 matches 2-0. He showed up. I entered. Asked to see his cards for trading. Didn't really see anything I could trade for. Then Bob gave the matchups. [Round one] People: Mind Puppet vs. Travis Decks: D-P vs Burn Hybrid Ugh, it has begun. Im watching my $5 trickling down the toilet. And I don't have a sidedeck constructed because I'm lazy and this isn't regionals. [Duel 1] Well, I went second via dice roll. He never got 2 Solar Flare Dragons out so I thank whichever divine being you believe in for that. I got heavy storm early and used it to kill his f/d Gravity bind, his f/d Magical Cylinder and his annoying Level Limit Area B. I eventually got my heavy back via Dark Magician of Chaos' effect and destroyed some stall cards. Very Helpful. Then he had a Breaker without a counter out, no M/T and it was my turn and I had a tomato on the field. I drew Creature Swap. I summoned a second Tomato, used swap, gave him a complimentary Tomato and recieved a breaker. I attacked tomato with tomato, brought out 2 don zaloogs, attacked with all leaving him with 1 card in hand and no field. Eventually.... VICTORY!!! [Duel 2] Everyone else is busy dueling so no one saw me beat him. I didn't care, figured it a fluke. This duel helped me think that. My Dark Magician of Chaos got removed early. :( I saw ceasefire, lava golem (which I offered for Jinzo :D), des koala, solar flares, etc. Everyone else was just about finished and saw.... DEFEAT!!! [Duel 3] I'm eyeing down the loser's bracket now. Figuring who I'd play next. Saw that Whitey lost to a Chaos Deck. I knew if I lost this, I was basically out because Whitey runs a 20 turn countdown deck that I can't even touch. I'm 0-18 vs that deck so this was all or nothing. We began and I went first. Bad Choice. I drew an offensive hand and had to wait to utilize it. I used Heavy twice in this duel via Dark Magician of Chaos and had him and Jinzo on my side of the field. but unfortunately... VICTORY!!! :D (Gotcha) 2-1 [Between Rounds] It was real short because me and Travis took forever. Everyone was waiting for us. I got some congrats for my victory. Then it was time to duel. [Round two] People: Mind Puppet vs. Joe Decks: D-P vs. Cookie Cutter Chaos Control with Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Broken He beat me in the finals of the morning. Again, Loser's bracket here I come. [Duel 1] I was really on in this duel. I got hand and field control quick. Brought out my Dark Magician of Chaos and got Nobleman of Crossout to open up the field to attack for.... VICTORY!!! [Duel 2] Ugh. We went back and forth for a while, he used some Scapegoat combos I taught him and I stalled for a while, but then I needed a good topdeck. I had 2200, he had Jinzo and Shining Angel staring me down. I had Waboku and Magic Cylinder in my hand. I Drew Creature Swap and Scooped... DEFEAT!!! [Duel 3] This deck should never lose to Chaos. It's built specifically to beat Chaos. It makes no sense. In this duel, I saw exactly the way this deck should work. His Envoy was mine, via snatch. He had a down. I had Ha Des... VICTORY!!! 4-2 [Between rounds] Im amazed I made it this far. At this point Im drained. Before I knew it, it was time for another Round. I've been dueling for about 6 hours now. [Finals of the Winner's bracket] People: Mind Puppet vs. Jon Decks: D-P vs. Cookie Cutter Chaos Control with Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Broken version 1.1 I Despise Chaos. Enough said. [Duel 1] We smacked each other around for a while. Kycoo attacks here, Shining for him, Tomatos for me. Eventually I made the move that swung the duel into my favor. He had a Breaker with a counter sitting there, no M/T. I had a Kycoo out and a Call of the Haunted facedown with Heavy in my hand. I drew Swap. I called back my Kycoo, Swapped my Called Kycoo for his Breaker. I Heavied. I smacked him directly for 3700. VICTORY!!! [Duel 2] Envoy kicked me around like I was a soccer ball. DEFEAT!!! [Duel 3] I don't remember the details of this duel. I know at some point I was attacking with a Tomato and Jinzo... VICTORY!!! 6-3 [Between Rounds] I have a while to wait since Im only in one more match. I watch Whitey lose to Travis via a card's wording. It was Travis' turn, turn 20 for final countdown. Travis was at 3000+LP, whitey was at 200-300 idk exactly. Travis attacked with Solar Flare Dragon, whitey waboku'd. Travis ended. Here's the decrepency. What happens first, damage or countdown ending? Whitey and I thought draw. We then read both cards and Solar flare's effect goes off during the end phase. Final countdown ends the duel AFTER the END of the 20th turn. I also saw Joe lose, Then it was the finals of the losers' bracket. Travis vs Jon. And afterwards... [Finals] People: Mind Puppet vs. Travis Decks: D-P vs. Burn Hybrid Sound familiar? Well, Im not gonna describe the match because it wasn't even close. I was burned to under 500 in each duel. I scooped in both. [Duel 1] DEFEAT!!! [Duel 2] DEFEAT!!! 6-5 [Post Tourney] Stood around for a while. Talked to Bob about Hero Clix or whatver it's called. Everyone left except me and Travis. Nothing exciting. It may or may not be time again and or for the first time for.... PROPS AND OR SLOPS!!! PROPS: -Uhh Heavy Storm for being Jesus -Creature Swap and all of it's combos -A Whole pizza pie being only $5 SLOPS: -Chaos for being overused -Cold outside -Chaos for being overrated -Stupid Mistakes -Chaos for being n00bish -BLS-EotBroken for being broken -Chaos for being the B1ZAtch of Control and -Chaos for ruining my metagame I know you wanna flame me for making fun of your "Original" (Cookie Cutter) Chaos Deck.
